A couple of questions if I may.. I'm flying in on the Saturday morning, can anyone tell me what time racing starts on the Saturday ?
Last time I went was over 10 years ago, can anyone advise on what ticket to purchase for the Sunday? I'm on the France Gallop website and there are approx 6 different ticket options : https://www.billetterie.france-galop.com/uk/QPAT?_ga=2.44208292.1275529557.1527624801-949038764.1519912560
I very much doubt the Arc weekend cards are scheduled yet.
You don't need to book tickets, you can pay at the gate on the day, unless you want to reserve a seat(s). It used to be cheap to enter the granstand lower levels, but it's been increased to €35 on the gate or €30 online. Price is the same for Saturday and Sunday. I recommend you go on both days.
I'm a regular and go most years (missed 2016) although the last couple, the race was transferred to Chantilly due to building of the new grandstand at Longchamp.
Have a good time.

Thanks for the reply Andrew. When I went many moons ago ( Hurricane Run won I believe ) I went Saturday and Sunday and as you say I purchased tickets on the gate.
I thought following the redevelopment you may need to purchase tickets in advance? Maybe not then..
Looking at the France Gallop site, there are 6 different ticket options for the Sunday. Arc's Village, Arc's Stand, Arc's Gold Stand, Arc's Gardens, Finish Line enclosure & Access Parade Ring.
To gain access to the main stand, I'm guessing Arc's stand would be the one?

Andrew, if you're still about....You mention 30 euro online tickets for both days. If you could confirm which ticket that is on the France Gallop site that would be great! Thanks again.

I didn't look at your link before, i used the one below. €35 on the gate or €30 online is stated for Saturday and Sunday.

It's confusing, because looking at your link, it's not exactly the same price.
I've always been in the main grandstand before, and it's where i want to be this year. If you stay in the middle area, you get a good view of the Prix L'abbeye.
I'll take a look tomorrow, i need to know anyway, and it seems to be different this year.

Register with France Galop and nearer the time they will send you a PROMO CODE and book and print your Etickets at a reduced price. As regards which tickets to buy it's all changed at Longchamp(for the worse),if you want to have access to the paddock or the finishing line you have to buy tickets for the finishing line enclosure 75 euro for the sunday or 90euro for a weekend pass. The general entry ticket called Arc Gardens is situated way past the winning post in what looks like an uncovered area and looks hopeless. The 15 euro tickets are for the centre of the course.

Thanks for posting the above, and you're certainly correct about 'all changed' at Longchamp, but probably to recoup costs of the new grandstand.
I was a little confused last night concerning the variables in entry costs when i read this post. In recent years, it was €4 on the Saturday and €8 on the Sunday for lower levels and i remember my g/f didn't have to pay because she wore a hat once. I never booked in advance.
I don't want to be on the inside of the course (although i've never experienced it) nor the gardens past the line, so it appears i have to fork out. Mind you Ascot et all are not so cheap for the decent enclosures these days. Good luck and have a great time if you're going.

I had a look the other week and checked again. The new grandstand is 75e with access to the parade ring another 70e on top. The Arc Garden, on the same side is 30e and has been said looks hopeless. You cannot get a paddock upgrade with that ticket.
The inside of the track ranges from 15e to 40e (with a stand) and 60e with a stand closer to the winning line. The 60e option also allows you the privilege of the paddock for another 70e.

I guess we could always go to the restaurant on the Eiffel tower, it's only the other side of the Seine and high enough for a decent view.
Closer to the metro as well
