I never back Tom Eaves rides. The computer automatically removes them from race cards.
But it is hard to sympathise with people who do back him and then complain when he does again what he has done too often before. It's like the Spencer-haters who still back his mounts. Didn't Alan Potts write about never backing Luke Harvey, the 10lb penalty?
If, like me, you think a jockey (or trainer) couldn't find his own arse with both hands and a map, then don't put the rent money on him. It really is that simple. And so is Tom Eaves.
