The smallest chase "fence" in the UK. Fact.

all that's missing is the water on the landing side ...

All the fences there look like turned up toothbrushes.

Fences in the straight are on a severe uphill, so fences are still very testing.

Are fences not supposed to be a minimum of 4ft 6 inches ?

Am sure remember Marlborough winning a Novice Chase at Towcester. Made loads of mistakes on the way….

The first in the home straight is very small as well.
|
|
By:
true, the first in the home straight actually always reminds me of the second last ...

Is it not deceptive as the camera is looking downhill and the horses are racing uphill ? Can't be under 4ft 6 inches that's for sure.
|
|
By:
That fence is nowhere near 4'6" imo, looks about 2'6".

Do you get less fallers near the end at the stiffer tracks?
Last time a horse was clear at the last and fell at Hexham or Towcester? |

@DG
Hurdles can only be a minimum of 3ft 6, and to be a fence it has to be 4ft 6. So impossible it's 2ft 6 ! |

I said it looks "about", whatever height it is, there is no way it is 4'6", you can tell that by the depth of birch compared to the last(2nd in straight) fence. |
|
By:
Without being next to the fence, you can't tell anything, there is an 11% climb up the Towcester hill so a camera filming down it, will be deceptive.

Live 15 mins from track,I'll check later.

I think its a hurdle they borrow from the greyhound track.

It's not evenly cut either definitely smaller in the middle than at the wings
