If reproducing the Doncaster run should win today but looks very weak in the market. I have visions of the horse coming off the bridle and Buick doing his usual ease down with a furlong to run.
Ominous that the market should prefer a horse on a 10 race losing streak and another with all its form in bog field handicaps. |

Maybe it was just a load of rubbish he beat at Doncaster.
Very poor at Ascot. As you say, market may be telling the story here. |

imo was always going to drift, there are other horses with form that looks a lot stronger in the race.

Obviously possible but needs to find two and a half lengths on Invincible Army from Commonwealth Cup running, not for me.

Aye Benny, a right load of sh*t he beat at Donny. The second, who he gave 12lb and a thrashing to, has only won 3 times since, including her latest start in a 20 runner HQ handicap off a mark of 94

The other aspect of his Donny win was the time, over a half s second faster than the older horse handicap on the card that was run at a flat out gallop.

Also Equilateral scoped dirty after Ascot, so I'm prepared to ignore that run.

Trap 9 could be a worry if there's another stands' side swamp at Newbury and he ends up in it.

Beat 2 home

That reminding him of dayjur will be written on his tombstone when he leaves this mortal coil.

I think a mistake to hold the horse as he appeared quite happy to see plenty of daylight at Doncaster.
Either way that was hopeless. Market didn't want him (and proved correct) despite the supposedly good vibes from the stable? |
|
By:
nothing to do with the market, half the field had better form than that horse

What's todays excuse???
|
|
By:
But it did beat a horse who has won three times since.......
|
|
By:
he's in the Stewards Cup...
|
|
By:
Today's excuses:
Stable could be in better form (nap) May prefer some juice in the ground (nb) Raced more towards the unfavourable? stands' side (treble) Time will tell (acca) |
|
By:
The time at donc was very good..obv went downhill.
|
|
By:
I'd agree with all those - don't think the stable's been in great form for most of the season - my first impression today was he did n't seem keen on trying to run through a gap to pass horses either - he's still only run 5 times.
I'd like to see him have a shot at the Stewards Cup and bowl along from the front but you'd still want a price which properly reflects his last two runs. |
|
By:
more than likely was a peak performance in that crap race, and now cant recapture that scintillating
earlier form. will no doubt bounce back later or sooner, after its been dropped a few pounds and put in an easier race, would be my guess. |
|
By:
Definitely a good horse but has lost his way at present. Don`t write him off yet.
|
|
By:
The problem is that it will take about two years to shake the Donny run out of it's SP's.
Today he was a budding superstar who flopped last time... Next time he will be a budding superstar who flopped the last twice... and so on and so on...... |
|
By:
just got overrated for a visually impressive wide-margin win. won't be the first, won't be the last.
|
|
By:
Leweisham Ranger, that doesn't explain the clock figure though does it? I think there's something not quite right with the horse.
