the can has been kicked again

It is some time in 2020 as it needs to be voted in by MP which is a near certainty to take effect.

can't wait to get these 2k bets on in AW sellers
By:
That's a hell of a lot of divorces, lost jobs, lost homes until 2020. Good news for noose sellers though.

was chatting to a lass down my local bookies and she said they should be ok, it's the bookies in the town centers who might be in trouble

And when you have 2 loss making shops very close to each other
doesn't mean that both have to close. There could be enough customers to make one shop profitable. |

when does the £2 minimum come into effect on betfair
By:
When the smart alecs who no how to do the sub £2 bets have all passed away.
By:
i thought it was ze betfair bot. My maite reckons betfair use the penny bots to push out prices and trick layers into laying a higher price than they otherwise would

So the government has determined after years of pondering that these are menace, that create suffering to people/families..... but will wait another year or 2 before we actually enforce this so in the mean time let the suffering continue!!

It will be like brexit, never will happen
By:
That's the process of legislation, but it will pass Parliament because it has the support of both Houses. It also gives the lazy and greedy head honchos of betting entities to come up with a new business model between now and then to minimise shop closures.
Brexit is happening, so will the beginning of the demise of fobt. |
By:
It doesn't take two years for legislation to pass Parliament.Nothing this Government says it will do happens.
Sorry where do you see Brexit happening, you must live in a differenet world to me? We are more or less at the same stage as the day after the vote almost two years ago |
By:
I'm sure fobt could be quicker but Government have too much and more important stuff on their in-tray. Also, it gives the bookies an opportunity to be bookies again or morph into casinos operators.
Brexit: The official time and date is 11pm on 29th March 2019 ie two after Mrs May triggered Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. |

By:
You are a very funny man inpossible123. Are you Mrs May?

By:

Matt Hancock the Culture Secretary has departed to the Department Of Health to replace Jeremy Hunt who's been promoted to Foreign Secretary replacing Boris Johnson who resigned yesterday over Brexit talks.
Jeremy Wright is Matt Hancock's replacement - thank goodness not Esther McVey. He's not a social media user, and little is known about his connection to horse racing, if any. Will the bookies try to derail the new fobt limit to be implemented come early 2020? I sincerely hope not. |
