These Baftas are obviously a load of old bolloxx. ITV Racing is a load of shiite, and any program that had Mick Fitzgerald and that other tool Emmet Kennedy on it , couldn’t possibly be eligible for any award. I see that absolute wankker Rio Ferdinand got one and worst of all they gave one to Love Island , so that shows quite clearly what a BAFTA is worth, nothing .

most things improve as time goes on,but is this present offering really any better than the days of francome, mcririck, down etc from a decade ago?
By:
It’s worse because that yoke Mick Fitz wasn’t on the telly 10 years ago .
By:
Think the award was for their coverage of the Grand National,Duncan.

By:
Ruby Walsh was on RUK for Aintree and he was five times more inciteful than the whole lot of them tools on ITV.
By:
cheers BIG GURU...i was being facetious (think it would be the only terrestrial tv horse racing prog) but dont know why (habit?!), i never watch it so their GN prog might well have been award-worthy
By:
It was for coverage of last year's grand national and i agree with jimeen's opening post.

He comes across as a cocky ****. Full of himself. Racing knowledge questionable.
Francesca is arguably the most knowledgeable presenter on all channels. |
By:
Wouldn't you feel a bit superior if you were in that ITV line up.
By:
he is certainly very good at being taller than the rest.

Will York be 'the best meeting of the year', then Epsom will be, then Ascot...

The Vikings are better off with Inu and Runciman in the centres imo.

What irritates me is his repetition of 'Great stuff Matt' or words to that effect when Chapman has been doing or saying nothing to warrant praise. As I've mentioned before EC seems in a constant state of trepidation that MC is planning to usurp his position as leader of the group.
By:
Posy he does that with them all. Great spot Richard, or great commentary etc when it doesn't warrant it. Mind you Chapman does the same for him so it's obviously something planned.
By:
Calling Weaver and Harvey twiddle dee and twiddle dum, how unprofessional is that? Those two presenters know a lot more about horse racing than him, agree? Good presenter, but can also be a bit too full of himself at times.

going to be a lot of patting each other on the back this afternoon.

flat expert fitzy on.

By:
Give it rest, please. Fitzy, flat expert? Not in a million years!
He's at it again so early in the transmission singing the praises of those involved in winning a Bafta for their coverage of the Grand National. Any other racing channel screened the Grand National?????? |
By:
Maybe i missed something but after thanking everyone, granny, toilet cleaner, he even thanked the horse, One For Arthur!
By:
Thanks for the 'heads-up'
I will not, therefore, be watching if FITZ is on a FLAT racing broadcast. Only 'once removed' from the charlatan Thommo in such circumstances. |
By:
The 'Team ITV' stuff gets very nauseous
By:
Dire cringeworthy viewing watching him trying to hype up RedKirk Warrior vs Harry at Royal Ascot.
He just kept doing it and called it the Ashes. Was he on coke or sumfin? Seemed overly excitable today. Does anyone really care about this? Just waited for Weaver to explain his theory of Harry in the King Stand and then I switched off. |
By:
I like ITV coverage. It IS different to the days of Jimbo, Cunningham, Luck and co, but I honestly find it more entertaining. I don't need to be enlightened( Cunningham) as to what a horse is rated, or if it acts on certain going, course, left handed, right handed etc etc. I am only watching the racing. I make up my own mind as to how to invest my few quid. I just find it a lot more lighthearted than before. Given a choice though? Julian Wilson and BBC any day of the week!! Happy days.

Francesca - he was 3rd in this race last year off a 16lb lower mark...what exactly does that mean Jason?
so we’re doing this sort of thing now. |

Is the fragrant Francesca in foal again?
Noticed the last couple of days she has been keeping the dress/coat buttoned up to hide the bump. Good luck to her, will be ready to drop her latest on return to Australia in the late Summer. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They could start a market to see which member of the team is the Daddy.
I am guessing Chapman will be 999/1 as she isn't his type McCoy must be like 999,999,999/1 as he only works in a test tube I do think they are playing to the thick as hit market and to increase viewing figures need too. Though it is fair to say certain presenter's would look stupid as guests on the Jeremy Kyle show and that takes some doing. |
By:
I quite like ITV Racing today. I also prefer Olly to Chamberlin as presenter because Olly's more horse racing knowledgeable; does not go ott promoting other impending sports on the channel - he understands this is a horse racing programme; neither excessively nor repeatedly complimenting his other fellow presenters - it was so irritating and unnecessary, and at times cringeworthy to watch.
By:
Agree. I didn't want to turn off as much today(except for Chapman which is the norm anyhow)
