Talking through my pocket here in the 4.35 Chester but seemed to get the gap perfectly at the cutaway and the horse seemed to have the race at its mercy only to fold in the last 50 yards
Pause Switch to Standard View Jason Watson super weak in a finish?

He did one thing absolutely right on the way round, stuck to the inner golden highway, though admittedly not in the straight.

My only instruction to Marc Monaghan (3), drawn 1, would have been: "don't leave that f*cking rail.
He was 6 wide into the straight.

Best ride in the race for me.

5 pound claimer not likely to be a keiron yet

If only he'd been riding Austrian School everybody would've praised him for a great ride and McDonald weak as pi$$ etc. Crazy

yeah jockey showed his tactical awareness to get good position, understandably not the finished article yet, I take it back jockey probably couldn't have done much more and just got done by a slightly better handicap horse

I think if the winner up gets the same trip through the race as the runner up it would have been more clear cut.

PJ looking the main man for MJ more and more.

dour stayer the winner who didn't always travel on the track but still won best horse on this occasion imo.
Report stridingedge May 10, 2018 4:55 PM BST
not sure what a winner up is though ^
Report BigField May 10, 2018 4:57 PM BST
Yeah stridingedge fair point about the winning margin being bigger if they'd both had the same rides/trips
Report stridingedge May 10, 2018 4:58 PM BST
Not on your case BF it's all about opinions I just thought I'd offer mine.
Report DenzilPenberthy May 10, 2018 5:00 PM BST
I read it as runner up Grin

Dr Watson?

Firsttimeposter, I was pointing out just how different the Balding approach which produced so many of the best GB jockeys compares to Gosden who seems to be casting around for a jockey every couple of years. Perhaps he can entice Frankie back.
