Thinking  of not renewing my  TV Licence as I  don't really watch much TV anymore but  don't know if 'Betfair Live Video' counts as  an online TV service

On the TV Licence website they say ..

You don’t need a TV Licence if you:

never watch or record programmes on any channel as they’re being shown on TV or live on an online TV service, and
never download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand.
This could be on any device, including a TV, desktop computer, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, games console, digital box or DVD/VHS recorder.

I was thinking the same thing FF, also the fact that you can't watch it on the full screen means it not like a proper TV service.

The question is...whose going to grass you up for watching.

Betfair would be breaking several privacy laws if they revealed this info to Capita.

Only way for them to know would be to access your device and search for evidence of this and the build a case against you based on this...you think they got time for all of that? Also why would you hand over your laptop or phone to a fecking stranger?

Btw to answer the question...I would say yes because it’s still a live broadcast.

But I wouldn’t pay if this was all I was watching.

I don't have a TV licence. Only own a mobile phone with unlimited data  I contacted the licence people and was told I couldn't watch Betfair horse racing without a license. I guess that includes greyhounds and football matches from Kenya? Amy live streaming event anywhere.

Does this include modus darts in pluto TV? It's live with ads

You should be happy to pay it as a contribution to Radio 4 and the BBC World Service.
