Ben Sanderson, the rider of DAPPER MAN (IRE), placed fourth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post to finish fourth, beaten a neck for third. After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Sanderson’s explanation that the gelding was tiring and would always have been passed by the fast-finishing JAZZ LEGEND (USA), was noted.

Saw that in the rare visit I take to the betting shop and many people there shouting at the screen when he slowed the horse well before the finish line.
Needs a major investigation on Ben Sanderson there.
