No, it does not mean that. It might mean that bookies change their terms and conditions and ask you to agree or opt in. You will probably have noticed many sites doing this already over the past couple of months.
Bookies can use your personal data for reasons that are necessary to conduct business (eg they need to know your bank card details so you can deposit and withdraw money) and/or that you agree to. You can ask to see what they have on you and that they delete it. Note that if you do not agree then you will probably be asked to take your business elsewhere, and if you ask them to delete all your personal information then obviously you will not be able to bet with them. |

Forgot to add: they (and any site) can only use your data for what they say they will use it for; again, this will make no material difference. It means that they need to know your bank details, for instance, but that they cannot later use that data to market new Betfred credit cards to Nat West customers (subject to whatever you have agreed they can do).
