Good idea.

Do fancy this one though, had a bit of 2.66 and fancy it to go off 6/5.

15/8f and last of 4, a pleasing result as Delta would say. I didn't see the race, but will watch the replay tonight. I'm chuffed as it wasn't my first choice.

Good luck and have a nice Sunday afternoon.

ok just a quick note ;;    the long lengthy post for saturday mentioned ,, - or was it 7 horses ,,, no bets  just maybe ,,   you then claim two other bets just known to yr mate bity bity ,  and you say i atertime ,, jeeez

so 7 pts up the river to anyone listening to you ,

today a I pt lay

you do the math mate , a loss in two days of 6 PTS to yr followers

i keep telling you yr star has been in sharp decline since i opened up yr bets to the rest of the forum ,

last june you wd get 40 /50 well dones if yr lay lost ;  today 6 bothered to reply and one of them a relation of yours ,

incidently you would get 15/20 unluckies when one of yr lays won ,

seems a different time mate doesnt it ,

perhaps you can explain the reason for the threads decline,   it was around braek even until sept oct now when the lays generated massive losses week after week ,

why suddenly after the arc  and the ENABLE fiasco which sickened a lot on here, did you start chaseing yr 14PT loss on yr lays with bets to win ,

all you did was compound the error ,  just like TOBY you thought ,, more bets more profit ,

its a hard lesson for you to take mate ,

6 well dones tells the tale ,  a sad sad end to the year ,

maybe you need to rest reflect as to yr future thread format ,

what yr doing now doesnt work does it ,

you can get yr followers to tub thump but the sound isnt too loud is it ,

try back to basics as after ive put up the total list of yr win and ew bets and show how poor it is , i will be surprised if you have even 6 faithful followers left ,

good luck you seem to be in need of it

Good morning Guys and Girls from a wonderful winters day in München (7c and sunny).

Many thanks for the comments since my last post, much appreciated. Happy

Poor cards today, some with big fields and it’s unlikely there will be a lay selection as many of the races are outside my 5/2 limit. I was looking at one in the 12.45 at Taunton, but it’s drifted big time.

There’s always the two horse race at Haydock, where I feel Cloudy Glen will make all, but not much running for layers. Never mind, as i often state on here, you don’t need to bet every day anyway.

Good luck and have a nice Monday all.

OK on to a less interesting topic, it appears my nemesis Kemo continues to be obsessed with me, obviously choosing to continually post on this thread in order to gain attention he craves, as his drop threads off quickly without much response from posters, and when there is, it’s normally negative.

It’s odd that for all his childish, jealous, inane ramblings on here, not one poster has ever agreed with him (apart from MMFTY and Cardenden, but they are the same person anyway) so i’m happy for readers to draw their own conclusions. His retorts to my posts are generally twisted around and don’t resemble what I typed anyway. Here are just a few examples from a single post amongst the zillions.

you then claim two other bets just known to yr mate bity bity

The only horse I mentioned to Bitbybit on Saturday was Kemboy that I laid. This was stated in my post.

you do the math mate , a loss in two days of 6 PTS to yr followers

Incorrect. Look at the running P/L

it was around braek even until sept oct now when the lays generated massive losses week after week ,

Incorrect. Look at the running P/L

why suddenly after the arc  and the ENABLE fiasco which sickened a lot on here, did you start chaseing yr 14PT loss on yr lays with bets to win ,

Incorrect on both counts. Enable fiasco ? I stated on here she had won me a good few boob and didn’t owe me anyway. Her winning a 3rd Arc meant more to me than the financial reward if she did, hence I was only having a small win bet, because I really wanted her to win and it would have been a double whammy if she didn’t. You wouldn’t understand this.

I have been putting up Saturday/Sunday thoughts since last year. They are thoughts, simply that, an extension to my lays and never part of the PL. Isn't it strange that no one else shares your views.

My lay post yesterday was a result of form reading, watching a video replay and typing a coherent, lengthy reasoning (i guess i spent around 30-40 minutes on the race) why I didn’t think the horse who was well backed into 15/8f would lose (it finished last). It’s there for all to see, and I laid it myself, as did others.

As a comparison, this is your post on your nutty nutkins thread.

our two big bets in ireland  are orange code sheet , proff plum , with horse number hosepipe  and Miss scarlett with the gun ,  good luck

you know it makes sense ;

29 words and very poorly written in what probably took less than a minute.

Absolute garbage and you expect respect of this forum for that ? Like i've stated before, an uneducated wannabe guesser who by his own admission doesn’t read form, you seriously are a joke on here.

Good morning Guys and Girls from a lovely sunny München (7c)

Yet another day of poor racing cards, although Punchestown is interesting (2017 Gold Cup winner Sizing John returns to action) yet i feel today is a day for laying rather than backing, even though many of the races are such they are outside my 5/2 odds limit.

As far as lays go, assuming i select one (and i do have a couple in mind) it will be my last one on this thread as we approach year end, so a new one will commence tomorrow. The format will be exactly as before, with same staking and matched bets as the first two threads.

Unfortunately my previous account was cancelled by Betfair due to new regulations in Sweden so at the start of the current thread this was not possible (regular readers are fully aware of the circumstances).

Thankfully 3 posters (Happysandwich, PHS and Bitbybit) came to my rescue to act as tic-tacs supplying the current lay odds at the time for my posts. My thanks to them are sincere.

Additionally, at the start of the month, the poster Bitbybit made a wonderful gesture by allowing me use of an account, hence recent matched bets (and others) on it. This act of kindness was born out of respect and trust by a stranger who i have not seen or spoken with (other than WhatsApp text messages). My sincere thanks to him again.

I wonder if my nemesis would ever get such an offer.

Lay status of the two previous threads (all bets matched and recorded on here)

Daily Lay Thread 2018
Total 66 selections (including Saturday and Sunday thread)
Success 55/66
Strike rate 83%
Overall profit +£1657 to level max stake £50 per day (less commission)

Random Daily Lay Thread 2018
Total 64 selections
Success 46/64
Strike rate 72%
Overall profit +£425 to level max stake £50 per day (less commission)

Daily Lay Thread 2019 (Current)
Total 78 selections to date
Success 56/78
Strike rate 72%

The latest thread will not reach the lofty heights of my first one, or even the decent profit for the following random daily lays, but are currently still in profit. Sadly 5 losses in a row takes the gloss off (a significant loss) but all layers experience bad runs and i'm no exception. My nemesis puts this down to him, but this is a deluded notion, but it makes him feel good, so let him play.

A spreadsheet detailing all selections was posted by Bitbybit a few days ago. Everything is open and above board with full clarity and i wouldn't want it any other way. The day i start losing significantly, i will stop the thread and that will be it.

OK on to some Tuesday thoughts, albeit limited due to the poor cards and looking for somewhere to take my daughter this evening to celebrate the NY.

I think a couple at Punchestown may be worth laying for small stakes.

Early Doors in the opener at 12.05. He has a little bit of class and was the best of these over hurdles, but he didn't look a natural chaser LTO and will need to jump better against a few of these with a little more experience. He's short enough @ 2.68 and although he ran OK (jumping aside) to finish runner-up on his chase debut there's a lot of difference between Galway and Punchestown and he's up in trip.

The other is Saglawy in the 13.45 and i'm a little vmore confident with this one (that was on my short list) but the odds need to contract a little for me to think of selecting it. It isn't a given i will post this one anyway.

Willie has half the field and although Sayo is the outsider with a a lessor known jockey on board, it wouldn't surprise me if this one made the running, whether he can stay there is another question.

I didn't see anything that i would consider putting up as a shortie, but for a EW (or 3TBP) maybe Aliandy in the 1.50 Uttoxeter (currently 5.50) is worth a small fun bet.

Good luck and have a nice Tuesday all.

More later.

Not having a go at your selections, or approach, but you ever thought about trading your selections? Grin

Nice first lay. Cool
Report Andrew.in.Sweden December 31, 2019 12:29 PM GMT
Stu,

No worries and thank you.

As far as daily horse racing is concerned i never trade and very rarely play IR, i make the choice and stick with it, back or lay. I appreciate it's another string to a bow, but if i was going to trade it would be on track and that is something i've never done. I wouldn't mind spending a day with Willie and Mouse to see how they do it (and make a decent living). Maybe one day, who knows.

I have traded on football backs/lays in the past, but i don't do that well on ball sports to be honest, although i'm not a heavy bettor with this type of sport anyway.

A good start to the day with the first lay. Happy

Well done with the first one Andrew.
Report stu December 31, 2019 1:18 PM GMT
Yep, fair enough to stick to your specific approach rather than trading. Bigger win when they land for you.

Gone off the Saglawy lay - market looks little too confident for it, which worries me. Scratched it.
Report stu December 31, 2019 1:50 PM GMT
Well done if laid, thank the jock though, awful.
Report Andrew.in.Sweden December 31, 2019 2:06 PM GMT
Stu,

Thank you. They gave the winner a soft lead and even though he tired, never looked like being caught. I guess some may say the runner-up could be considered a little unlucky, hampered slightly by the faller, but would it have won. PT not at his best whatever the opinions and with this stable, jockey bookings can be ignored anyway.

A pity i didn't post it (or Early Doors) as a lay, but easy to say after the event.

A 100% day for me so far, 3 bets, so i may call it a day on what i thought was poor days racing anyway.

Well done on your bets today Andrew.

Now call it a day, as it’s getting dark outside here in London at 3.17pm.

They could bump into the fences instead of going over them. Grin

Anyway, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone on the Forum a very prosperous 2020 (that’s normal vision).

Insideshrewdie,

Many thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoy reading the thread, in fact i'm happy anyone does Laugh

Happysandwich,

Thank you, i did call it a day.

Can you believe i'm in a hotel for the night only 6 kms from where we live. Younger C wanted to watch the firework display at Olympia Park, but so do about 100,000 other locals, hence the hotel too not far away. We can watch it from a high floor (and it's warmer).

Best wishes to you and H.

MinnieLAI and Brian,

Many thanks and likewise a Happy New Year to you both and everyone else who reads/posts.

Morning all and a very Happy New Year to everyone who adds to and follows this brilliant thread.

Andrew
Very well done yesterday with the lay selections. I watched but didnt get involved as I'd only just got myself in front for the year, not a large, sum a couple of hundred but wanted it to stay that way. If I do my nuts today it wont matter as much.(perhaps nuts is the operative word there)Crazy

Happy New Year pal and best wishes for 2020 in both health and wealth.

I was going to back Kalashinikov but he will be some horse to win this off this high so have decided a watching race now
Have sold distances on the spreads so hoping Champ doesnt win by too far

GL all

Hi Lucky,

Apologies, i only noticed this when checking an Altior post i made last month.

Many thanks for the NY greetings and belated best wishes for 2020 to you and loved ones.

You did well to swerve Kalashnikov and Champ did you a favour, i guess selling the distances paid off as there were a few photo finishes and no real typical NH lengthy distance wins.

Also well done on the end of year profit (and for keeping records) not so many could say the same. Good luck.

yes as ais said  not many kee^p records , its too inconvenient , hence when i did for him SEP OCT NOV the so called vastly profitable thread dived ;

my own thought is it was the pressure ,  but seems hes now doing the bizz , but i suppose ive not been reading the thread nor posting , with ais nothings ever what he said it was and while he dropped supporters as his stuff fell in a ditch , ;

as i think live and let lives the way forward  im not sure my reading and answering his posts , cos of course he will reply  is going to help him ,

toby coudnt cope with it nor indeed AIS the differnce was  toby tried to blast his way out of trouble 64K burned in less than a month ;

ais was less quick as he posted intermitant lays , eventually he just stopped   ocer tyhe course of my monitoring him he was running around 20 pts behind on his lays ,  his backs were miles worse , it became almost sad watching him crumble ,

i hope his new thread can pick up his fortunes ,  and his supporters yet ais and his supporters cheer when they get a winner and keep stumm when they lose ,

lets see how he goes , it will be interesting ,
