Including one ridden by our lord and master Ry. I had them  to win and to place. No one penny returned. Not a single penny, ladies and gentlemen! Not one copper penny piece did I see again! Ah, ye olde flatte turfe in all its glory! We pays our hard-earned for this absurdist farrago! I'd rather bet on two drunks playing crazy golf. Gotta love it; makes you puke but you always come back for more.

This game ain't for me? I knew that 25 years ago. It ain't for anyone. Ordinary punters are the quiet heroes of this game. Know why? Because they keep it going one way and another. The whole game is a farce of concealed information and the punter finances it. So, and do take this on board, they have a perfect and inalienable right to have a bloody good moan.

You can't be 'clever' with racing like today's. You either follow the fav - that's not clever in its own right; it may be wise, but only if the fav wins - or you do your own work.
So, that can be boiled down to Received Wisdom v Equine Tombola. Neither of which is 'clever'.
