Your suggestion of 11 a.m sounds spot on deans assuming you know exactly where you are going to park. Familiarising yourself with the many car parks and their locations is advisable - the further from the course on theory the better the getaway after racing.

Seriously you should park in the multi story by the holiday inn express. If decent weather it is a nice walk to the course, via the Parrott Bar of course!!
If it is bad weather, head for Taylors or Copa in the town centre and jump on the bus shuttles to the course. It means you arrive when you like and straight out when you are back to the car, no queues at all. |

lot less hassle taking the chopper on the day, small tip if you're doing this all passengers need to be notified to the Racecourse in advance, something to do with the CAA. Caught me out a couple of times.

Fishing aside, the only way to get to the track (for me anyway) is the steam train from Toddington.
