Remember it well, he backed a 5/2to 3/1 "on oddschecker at the time" shot in a race with umpteen significant non runners which was at one time 9/2 but had not been updated on ladbrokes shop screens, when the staff referred the bet to a trader he obviously got the correct price.

so staff ring up a £400 bet without checking prices walofs

By:
Surely he hasn't lost his only piece of evidence in this case?
Or possibly he sent it to IBAS and they 'lost' it? |
|
By:
this could be one of the great miscarriages of justice of modern times
|

By:
JM - he had a a 2er on the beachball bet (NAP).
Just go back in the shop and ask for a copy of the slip? Anyone in a dispute would keep it, and anyone who has already taken a photo of it wouldn't delete it surely? Maybe got confused with the other 8000 photos of bets he had taken on his phone and deleted the wrong one? |
|
By:
Just get him to askl Ladbrokes to contact Paddy Power HQ for a reference. They will be able to confirm that Ladbrokes will get it back in spades in the future if they settle as a 'goodwill gesture'

I do not get why he even thinks he will get the extra paid?? He has placed a bet and the slip has 11/4 wrote on the slip by the cashier (that is his contract) - and he has still placed the bet regardless of what price it was when he put it on the counter. He could have said "no thanks I do not want the 11/4" and argue all he likes about their practices and shocking service. But he would be a million to win this case by IBAS or in court. The contract states 11/4 and that is that.
He seems to think that when the slip goes over the counter the bet has been placed!! He was waiting for it to be authorised by PTL and by the time they came back it was the first show - that is the point of sale. No doubt everyone are wrong and he is correct as per usual, but even Stevie Wonder can see he hasn't got a leg to stand on here. PS Greggyg - How come the stake has gone up to £400 when it was £300? |
|
By:
didnt ibas say 9/2 wasnt marked on the bet
[ This image is no longer available. ] magic dips martyn says get your fact right before posting garbled diapers |
|
By:
the offer stopped at 11.58 according to ibas.the bet was struck at 17.38.
he hasnt a leg to stand on imo |
|
By:
The bets STATES £300 WIN AT 11/4 (not 3/1, 7/2, 4/1 or 9/2 BUT ELEVEN TO FECKING FOUR) - CASE CLOSED. Yet this buffoon wants paying at 9/2!!!!
He could have declined the offer of 11/4 but didn't and still placed the bet. IBAS are 100000% correct and he hasn't got a leg to stand on. If he cannot see that, he is more stupid than I thought (thought that was impossible). |
|
By:
does appear the bet had 9/2 written on it at some point ... to be fair
|
|
By:
I am not disputing that, but that has quite clearly been crossed out and he has clearly taken 11/4. The race had 6 non runners, it is pretty obvious the screens hadn't been updated, and as Lads have said the 9/2 was gone at 11:52am - nearly 6 hours previously.

|
By:
agree with daps cant see him getting paid out at 9/2 . 11/4 is what he will get ,they will say he could have refused the bet if he were not happy ! only hope is a goodwill payment ! ladbrookes offering 1,000/1 on that !
