I'd be surprised if it's on.
Apart from the possible issues with the track, the roads / area around the park will be inaccessible. It will also be difficult for everyone travelling to the track. |

Newcastle must pass an inspection at 10am if its evening fixture is to take place after the track was hit by 4cm of snow.
Speaking shortly after 9am, raceday clerk of the course Paul Barker said: "The track is currently raceable, we're working to clear all the public areas, stables and parade ring. "We are due more snow so we are monitoring and will have a look at 10am. He added: "The surrounding roads are getting better. I believe there has been a lot of snow in the Malton area, so there are a few non-runners from there. They are working on the A1 to get it clear. Fortunately we race later which gives us more time, and the Highways Agency are working hard to clear the roads. "We've not had snow for a good hour, which has given us a chance to clear the public areas. As long as we don't get too much snow we'll be able to keep on top of the track." There is better news at Wolverhampton, with racing expected to go ahead this afternoon. The six-race card commences at 2.15. Clerk of the course Fergus Cameron said at 8.30am: "We've had a few snow flurries this morning but as we speak I don't anticipate any problems. But that's not to say we're not continuing to monitor. "We're raceable at the moment. The roads are fine. "If we get snow then clearly the situation may change, but at the moment we're absolutely fine." |

I had the same opinion as yourself for the first few years of the A/W.I was advised to give it a try.Now some of my biggest bets are at Wolves and Lingfield. Why would you want to stop others enjoying a bet. Just turn the tv off |

Wolves & Ling would be much less interesting if they had entire cards run on a straight course where they crawled for the 1st 3/4.

I agree mouse,i hardly ever bet at Newcastle. But others enjoy it

I have the odd dabble in decent handicaps on the round course.
