That may be because they haven't seen it. Think the trainer will be bringing it up later. What if this was a fav in the Nunthorpe ? You see it's nowt to do with the horse.

The race should be void but if it isn't then yes there should be money back on the horse but it sounds like nothing has happened as regards betting which is crazy. Why didn't the starter declare a false start ?

An enquiry was held into the faulty action of the starting stalls in this race. William Cox, the rider of CARP KID (IRE), placed third, the trainer John Flint and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident. It was found that there had been a fault with stall 5 resulting in it opening fractionally after the other stalls. Being satisfied that the malfunction had not materially prejudiced a sufficient number of runners and that the starting procedures had been properly carried out, no further action was taken but a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authorit

I didn't see it but that does not sound right. The gates surely have to open at the same time. If that was the Derby and the favourite was affected then there would be outrage. It should be the same for all races. Void race or deem the horse a non-runner.

wazza the horse was perfectly still and didn't cause it. Therefore it was nothing to do with the horse or the jockey. If one of them is to blame then of course you have to take it but this was an equipment failure.

" ...the malfunction had not materially prejudiced a sufficient number of runners" So in future everything is fine as long as only one horse has been left in the stalls ?

Yes you have to void all bets because these days it's layers as well as backers that could be s hafted. Imagine if an even money fav gets left in the Nunthorpe. Then layers could have big liabilities on the winner if the fav is beaten. Just cos it's a small race at Wolves should be same rules everywhere.
