yes you can buy tickets on the day and easiest (if you're planning a few pints of gambrinus) is train from prague main station near the top of wenceslas square - been a few times, viewing limited but great atmosphere and watching horses jump crazy fences and running through ploughed fields is, as they say!, a spectacle
