Curtis ride was atrocious
By:
Forget Curtis take a look again Kingscote , allowing the horse to drift back as if he was going to pull the horse up and then asking it for half an effet once they were gone was shocking.
By:
and then nervous when he was getting too close :D
By:
And the best part is he never even tried to hide it
By:
Iam no expert at the horses but that was so obvious
By:
Wow

Just watched it again and it's even worse 2nd time around, there was no need to restrain the horse after 50 yards who was settled , twice he looked over his shoulder looking for a chance to ease his mount back from it's prominent position, he then took another pull and a third when he eased his mount looking like he wanted to pull it up, before trying to make it look good once they were gone

Why doesn't the racing post race comments never say anything? I take it 'lost place' means jockey pulling it back, ' not pace to get back on terms' means jockey saving it for another day?
By:
I disagree with you all. I think he just got stuck behind a horse that was stopping quickly and had nowhere to go.

People see what they want to see.

8.21 post proves that
By:
Pray tell us how you saw the race and his ride then

Trapped behind Coillte Cailin? Maybe but once he lost 2 or lengths because of that there was no urgency to make up the ground until it was too late and then he accepted it anyway.
This is what frustrates punters - the rides the well-backed ones get compared to this kind of ride. |

Anybody watching the Mount Tahan race 15th jan class 3 after the early crawl , wud have seen Maratha kick on with pretty fast mid race fractions to only get beaten by a 93 horse , the way the track was riding tonight wud have suited Maratha even better , Id love to know Richard Kingscotes instructions in the parade ring .

I thought it was a strange ride when I saw it live there tonight. Now I've seen the replay a few times, it looks even worse

Race 7 - 7:55pm
THE BETWAY LIVE CASINO HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) Following the race, Andrew Mullen reported that COILLTE CAILIN (IRE), placed eighth, stopped quickly as if something was amiss. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of COILLTE CAILIN (IRE) revealed the filly to be suffering from an irregular heartbeat. Whist CC stopping quickly clearly didn't help, RK should have been aware of what was unfolding in front of him Or maybe he was ![]() |

It was a strange ride from a jock that is one of the best from the front end to let prominent position go when there was no pace on
either so can only be put down as poor at best.. |
