for years a low draw was best on the straight track..but during the last year or so , horses that race nearside to middle (high draw) have been winning more than their share... does anyone know if there has been any maintenance changes to the track... seems like there is a track bias.. any theories ?
Yes, early in the New Year the track invested in a platinum sand-plough following a successful trial at Sunderland greyhound stadium a few years ago. This meant that it cut through the sand at much deeper levels and more importantly had a variable setting controlled by the tractor driver. This meant that he could produce conditions to suit any requests
