In the initial stages you were thinking he was a few lengths further back than he wanted to be. He looked short of pace throughout but the most alarming thing was his jumping. He was being outjumped by the likes of Alpha Des Obeaux. It was a dire performance. No doubt they will use that old cliche and say he ran flat but surely they must have been happy with him at home in order to run him.
He ran up a nice sequence but all of a sudden he now looks fragile. Perhaps beating up the likes of Djakadam and Minella Rocco wasn't that great in the first place. Either way you wouldn't be rushing to take 8/1 for the Gold Cup. The Gold Cup is clearly up for grabs.
