Also like Ch4, we have to have a low shot at the last focussing on the leaders so no idea of where everyone is and the distances between them.

Any channel continuing to use Mick Fitz will not be gaining any viewers.

Fitzy never brings anything new to the table. He never delivers anything that we don't already know. We want something that can make us a bit of cash.

The harder they try the worse it gets.
Flashing pictures that make you look away, loud beat music and shouty finishes to past racing which has you pressing the mute button.
Then brief shots of presenters acting like idiots which makes you turn the programme off altogether. And that was only the opening few minutes.

I must admit, as I was doing other things, I only turned on just before the King George got under way, but that was enough. Seriously, I didn't even wait for the SP's to come up, I'd turned it off.

I swear I could do better than some of them, just need the chance!

I also want to just watch the race with only the commentator talking, I don't like the gimmicky interjections mid race from the pundits. ITV are trying to jazz things up, but most of it doesn't add anything and can be annoying.

I don't know what racing thinks it is achieving letting that total clown loose on the presentation again.

Coverage was fine imo with the only issue the camerawork not showing the fences as they approached them too often instead of panning out to see them take the fences better.

After a fairly decent year, I'm sure they have changed their pictures director recently.

The low point was not Kempton, but Haydock in the Betfair Chase, when leader Bristol de Mai
made a race-winning surge down the back straight.
The ITV director ignored this, concentrating and lingering on the housewives favourite, Cue Card, mid-pack

with chepstow off, itv also showing the 1-30 and 2-05 at wetherby.

All these modern programme planners are doing by trying too hard, is to drive away the followers that racing has got left.   

Too noisy, too flashy, too dumbed down for a target audience which they obviously think low IQ stuff like that appeals to.

They seem to have got rid of Pendleton and the weather girl which is a plus.  Now to keep the momentum going they immediately need to discard Fitzgerald and Plunkett.

Rather like the Daily Mail, several years ago, who changed the Layout and format of the paper to try and attract the 'Yoof' market.

They claimed to have got about 500 "new readers" - which would have been for ONLY a FEW DAYS, though, through publicised curiousity  ...

But they ALIENATED and LOST around 5000 LONG-TERM readers of decades purchasing the paper.

They, eventually, realised the massive mistake, and error of their ways, and reverted to the tried and trusted Layout.

Regarding the, "noisy,flashy," approach - Attheraces are far worse.

I am convinced that some 'straight out of Uni', young geek is responsible for putting together their Promos, for such as the Lesters, forthcoming Festivals, etc  - all backed by machine-gun like drumming House or Garage, or whatever you want to call it, type RACKET.

The geek likes it - but fails to realise  that probably 90% of the TARGET Audience detests the tuneless DIN ... and are, consequently, TURNED OFF by the Promo.

Looks like Plunketts had the heave-ho. 2 Saturdays where she only played a bit part, followed by last 2 days where she's not there at all. So brilliant coverage in my humble opinion.
Even Fitzy has improved a little.

Excellent news if Plunkett is being phased out.

What annoys me is treating viewers like idiots explaining everything.

You don't watch a football match and hear the commentator explaining the offside rule or saying the ball hit him on the hand, so that is handball etc
