MJK - if you can't see it then fine, but he is riding like a liability, JP is famous for his loyalty so probably BG has to make the obvious move, just hope no horses or BH himself get hurt in meantime..

Gordon, yourself and 2 or 3 others on here make the same comments every day when he's riding. Nobody will ever call me a jockeys apologist but you just keep at the same jockey every day he rides. Of course yourself and the same 2 or 3 never saw McCoy give the owners horses any dodgy rides, even though he did it as much. At least be honest about it, you just have it in for him. I don't like certain jockeys so I just don't bet them. No harm in commenting on bad rides, I do, but I get the impression you just hope he loses so you can get on here as quick as possible to criticise.

could have flew every fence would have made no  difference ,nothing was coming remotely of the pace all afternoon never mind 10,20 lgth from flag fall, sat out the back behind horses going a married mans gallop in front, under the conditions

Watch the race again...its JUMPING was the reason it was where it was.

MJK - I've backed BG many times over the years but as you seem to read my other posts on the subject but without understanding my point, I'll try to clarify

i posted several times on choc thornton in latter stages of his career - injuries probably played a part, but in the 12 months before he finally retired he was a danger to himself and his mounts..for past 6 months, BG is looking the same to me...it's best to go out at the top - mccoy probably carried on a little too long although riding dozens of winners, francome probably got it right...

with the quality and quantity of mounts at his disposal, BG will ride more winners, but nowhere near as many as he should and hopefully at no real cost to his health

Very articulate Gordon -sums the situation up nicely.

there bound to be some, but can anyone think of a big race or expect to see in a big race BG be positive in a race lead from the front .be up with the pace and let other jockeys start to think about how to react, beat him, every race seem,s to be mid div out the back lets see what happens

Yes Gordon, but you seem to take great pleasure in him losing races so you can criticise. Your opinion of the situation is noted. So do you have to do it every time he loses a race, and however he loses its always for the same reason according to you.

mid div 20 yards further out looking for better ground ... but never finding it

no but losing the race wasn't the issue today, little wonder they abandoned after the 5th race...the horse barely scrambled over the 3rd last, looked for 50 yds as if was going to be pulled up and then was asked to jump the 2nd last - seems the jockey had a brain freeze..

a fair number of his rides recently appear to be in the classic JP lets get them well handicapped for festival mode, but Yanworth/Modus and even Unowhatimeanharry were for me at least, just basically poor (or at best odd) rides..

Modus as pointed out on here with a thread before the race was poor price with omitted fences

made one mistake at newbury when BG was accelerating him to the 1st in the straight at newbury because he was out of his ground and let the 2nd fav get a run on him, otherwise he,d have jumped a near perfect round for a twice raced novice, imo of course

barry geraghty blog

BALLYOISIN got very tired on the ground. He coped with soft ground fine at Down Royal on his previous run, but he just couldn’t handle the ground on Sunday, not at Un De Sceaux’s pace.

He made a mistake at the third last fence and he was very tired when he fell at the second last. He was fine afterwards and he should do better on better ground.
