And what's wrong with mutton dressed as lamb?  Sure, HM will be disgusted but her day is well over.  We live in a new world where tat, bling and chavship is the order of the day.  Good luck to Harry.  He'll need it.  And, he's a good lad.

Brexit, the ashes thrown away and now this. Can it get any worse for Team GB? Do taxpayers have to fork out for their wedding?

Queen Victoria's grandchildren were largely to blame for the outbreak of the first World war and that led to the second.

The working classes' love of the institution is totally beyond me. We should turn our backs on all this nonsense and become a Republic.

That is, the country needs to grow up!

Surely most people don't give two fooks about a Royal Wedding?

I do hope a Bank Holiday is given though. You can't give to one brother and not the other!

Very well said roggrain.  It is absolutely disgusting the level of privilege and patronage which this monarchy discharges in its drive to ever maintain the status quo.  And the tail of the comet expands and increases year on year!

There’s one (or perhaps one million) born every minute.
A month ago Brenda was under pressure after the real ease of the Paradise Pspers; they must have had a POW-wow and someone said “I tell you what. Let’s announce a wedding! All will be forgotten & forgiven, they’ll be waving their little flags outside Buck House and we’ll even get the gullible plebs to pay for it all! Trebles all round!”

Let’s get rid of the whole bloody tribe of scroungers

A Royal wedding got me a day at Kempton and a weekend in London when Margaret got married. I was supposed to go from Edinburgh to RNAS Yeovilton and back in a day for Ferranti. The RNAS meeting took longer than expected so I had to stay in Yeovil overnight. Why go home on the Saturday when I could go to Kempton and stay at my mother in laws for two nights.
I made out my expenses as if I had gone home on the Saturday but got the late night Sunday flight home. Speaking to the Guy next to me on the flight I told him of my good weekend. Turned out he was going to Ferranti's to see the accountant who was getting my expenses form.

My brother's marriage to his second wife happened to fall on the same day as Diana's funeral. People phoned him up to ask if the wedding

was still on!! That's how insane this whole obsession with royalty is.

Lead on.
She came from a very rich family and she had a good divorce settlement.
Next you'll ask where Charlie's money comes from. Read up on the Duchy and the 40% tax he pays.

Despite what people think the Royals are basically self-funding and look at the tourists they bring in and the souvenir industry they support.
