Anyone who saw the film will remember Jan and Brian who bred and brought up Dream Alliance (who is still enjoying a happy retirement).  I was one of those lucky enough to have been part of the syndicate and had some never to be forgotten experiences.

Early this morning their stable in Cefn Fforest was set on fire (early indications suggest it was arson), which killed the two year old Impossible Dream who they bred and was shortly to join Philip Hobbs' stable.  His mother Juwireya, who won a race for us last year, suffered severe burns, but it is hoped that she will make a recovery.

I am lost for words as to who would even think about doing this to such beautiful animals and should anyone have any information they should contact South Wales police.

I would love to get whoever did this into a room and torture them and hope thats what people do to them if they find them rather than hand them over to plod who will give them a suspended sentence.

Really enjoyed that film. It was great to see decent working class people living the dream. This is absolutely horrid news because they've ruined the next "chapter" of this already amazing story. I hope those who carried out this cruel crime are caught very soon. I've always though this sort of crime and animal abuse in general should carry a jail sentence. Unfortunately it sounds like someone is unhappy about the success of your syndicate and the attention you've all received. Sad prick!

They will not have CCTV as the report said there was no electricity at the stable. How twisted can anyone be to do such an act. If found to be a local he can never live there again.

Such a good caring people in the syndicate that they gave £20K for stem cell treatment to cure Dream Alliance of his tendon damage even when it seemed he would never race again.

Sad news. But looking at the picture in the paper it just looks like a shed in allotments. Doesn't look like the kind of place for racehorses.

That's all it is from the story of Dream Alliance but it seems that a good horse can thrive anywhere.

Until  vandals/arsonists find it an easy target because there's no owners house adjoining or even cctv.

Important they get a proper country set-up or it's likely to happen again imo.

History would tell us that no one will be caught as I'm sadly reminded of the Not the Nine o'clock News take off of the solid fuel advert.
'Come home to a real fire, buy a cottage in Wales'.
The famous sketch from Not the Nine O'Clock news made light of the arson attacks on English-owned homes and businesses in Wales that began on 13 December 1979. Yet despite 228 attacks over a 12 year period not one person was ever charged with the arson attacks.
