Are you perhaps using an api product which is checking the odds more often than you think it is, or in more markets than you actually use? Check the default settings imo.

By:
Absolutely not, in fact I must be in the bottom 10% of users.

Mate had the same thing a year or so ago, he was only checking previous prices just using the graph manually (and not that often at all). Think it was just down to him not betting on here enough.

So when you look at a race, you never see any prices change, they just stay the same until you manually refresh them?
Because that does not sound very likely. If you see prices change, then whatever program you use for Betfair must be querying the prices automatically. Even if you just log into the website with a browser and not Gruss or Betangel or one of the other api-based programs, you can set the refresh rate under settings (top right). If you are using Gruss or one of the others, check it is not set up with a ludicrous rate across all of the markets. Or Betfair could have screwed up. |

ghh, got one of these emails myself just two weeks ago. What format are you using? I'm using Windows Vista Business 7 which is no longer supported, neither is Google Chrome that I was also using.
When logging on to a race my in running screen would go nuts, prices changing every fraction of a second, far too quickly and really hard to follow, have changed to Firefox and everything is back to normal. |

Got something similar.
I'm guessing it's because the refresh rate is set to 1 second. How do you change the refresh rate? I'm using chrome on a PC. Can't seem to find it. |

Trying to move yous onto sportsbook imo.

pulio - Doubt that
EVERYBODY just using a Browser on the Website will be Refreshing at the Minimum 1 sec - it is the Betfair Default. Before Betfair brought in their own faster Refresher - with this new site engine - You had to refresh manually - or wait for 20 seconds. Many used the gruss REFRESHER - not the full gruss API - and had that set at half-a-sceond, without any issues. |
|
By:
Default refresh rate is 15 seconds.

trying to force you to stan james ...

By:
@pulio -- under settings (and then under betting), top right of browser.
|

Let's not split hairs - Remus.
Who - in their right mind - sits there, waiting for 15 seconds. Mine has been on 1 sec - from the off, of this new site - as, I suspect, have 90+% of regular users. SURELY, NO need to change it to longer than 1 sec ... otherwise we will all be getting that email. |

Another thought has just occurred to me. If you leave Betfair open on a random market rather than closing down when you finish punting, presumably it will sit there pointlessly refreshing all night. That might fool Betfair into thinking you are either insomniac or a company.
|

By:
they come down pretty hard on insomniacs alright .... zero tolerance
|
|
By:
They know who the insomniacs are, they're the ones posting shyte on here at 3 am.
|
|
By:
THEY never sleep.
|

THEY monitor the next day's markets like hawks, even though if they do get an advantageous price it won't be for more than a pony.
