JUST A FEW FACTS REGARDING ONCOURSE BOOKMAKERS PAYING IN ADVANCE TO WORK,CHELTENHAM /AINTREE ARE TRYING TO IMPLEMENT COMPULSORY PAYMENT IN ADVANCE FOR ONCOURSE BOOKMAKERS WHICH IS ALL WELL AND GOOD IF THATS WHAT YOU PERSONALLY WANT, BUT AS WAS BROUGHT UP AT THE CHELTENHAM BOOKMAKERS MEETING THIS IS NOT AND I STRESS NOT COMPULSORY, YOU CAN PAY ON THE DAY TO STAND AND THERE IS NOTHING IN OUR CONTRACTS THAT STATES OTHERWISE. THIS YEAR SOME BOOKMAKERS AT THE GOODWOOD FESTIVAL WHO HAD PAYED IN ADVANCE DECIDED NOT TO STAND DUE TO THE INCLEMENT WEATHER,THEY WERE REFUNDED ZERO,PAY IN ADVANCE AT YOUR OWN PERIL,ONCE A PRESIDENT IS SET FOR PAYMENT IN ADVANCE I THINK WE ALL KNOW WHERE IT WILL LEAD, OUR USELESS ASSOCIATIONS SEEM TO BE OBLIVIOUS!

Surely in a business sense the course would like to ( i.e. revenue ) know how many they have ''standing'' on any given day ?

WOULD BE INTERESTING TO HEAR DONS THOUGHTS ON THE CURRENT SITUATION,IM PRETTY SURE HE WOULDNT STAND FOR THIS "COMPULSORY PAYMENT IN ADVANCE" NONSENSE.
