So there's now no point from a personal point out of view of having 2 Korals and 2 Lads shops in my local high street . I can now get fully behind the campaign to have these vile dens and their FOBTs shut down . Letters already drafted to local politicians.  Feel a bit sorry for staff  but that's only a short term problem. Overall these corporate scum are removing millions from local economy.

Why does the RP include Laddies and Corals prices in pricewise this morning when they clearly will not be the same what a waste of space then again why did I spend £2.70 when information in the RP is freely available elsewhere. Mind blowing.

Pricewise surely now a redundant concept and , as with liberator, no point in buying RP to get prices that aren't available at all. As for online version RP undermined years of notes I had made by changing their format without consultation so I'm going to cancel my subscription to that as well.

Incredible to think that people can think of nothing better to do on Saturday mornings than queue outside bookies' shops to arb a couple of quid on PW's selections, most of which lose anyway.

Even more incredible to think that Korals and Laddies are passing up the opportunity to milk the herd given the only people that still rate PW aka "the stopped clock" as a tipster are members of his immediate family who have no option but to go along with the ruse.

I'm quite happy for Pricewise (and all other 'influential' tipsters) to end as I think it would  give me more scope to take advantage of opportunities on this site (which is also a shadow of its former self). 1st time poster - there indeed might not be much difference between bookies and building societies or an off licence (depending on its ownership) but if you don't otherwise understand my point then get a basic economics book and look up 'local multiplier effect'. In short the profits of GalaKoral disappear into some off shore company rather than being reinvested in the local economy

.........and FOBTs are transferring millions of pounds to off shore corporates that would otherwise be spent on proper goods and services which would stimulate the local economy. So its not just the unfortunate individuals who are addicted to this form of gambling who are affected. IMO the corporate bookies who exploit FoBTs are morally on the same level as heroin dealers.

Yes you could, though these companies at least provide you with some resource in return for your money and aren't as obvious vehicles for money laundering as FOBTs

Surely we have reached the point were the parasites should not be allowed to advertise overnight prices in the media . If they cannot guarantee to some level to make available what they say is available then the ad should not be there in the first place its misleading and fraudulent.

I think the point being made is FOBTs in bookies are fleecing punters of huge amounts of money ( by far  the firms  biggest profit generator) in these shops.
Even ignoring the terrible suffering and deprivation of many individuals who can't help feeding these machines, hundreds/ thousands of pounds.

You'd have to buy an awful lot from Starbucks,Amazon orEbay to account for anything like the same amount of money.

At least with amazon starbucks etc you are getting a tangible product that you want and wont probably lead to some sort of life changing addiction.

Be careful what you wish for. That may well be the logical next step but if the Post goes bust then we are all worse off.

Who cares if the RP goes belly up same information will be available feely elsewhere survival of the fittest surely advertising standards must stand up and be counted? I never really understand the arguments,is it any different from the governmemt allowing people to smoke surely this would be a far bigger priority than FOBTS, killing people for profit.Why does everyone presume that getting FOBTS banned are any sort of cure for addicts,i wish they were banned and obviously for selfish reasons but these sort of people they are only going to move onto other forms of gambling if they were banned.Plenty of other things to get a fix from..

My original comment was partially  an acknowledgement of my own slightly hypocritical use of high street bookies when it suited me: no need for that any more except for odd ante post bet and the occasional skim through the RP ( which is no longer worth buying).
