I have laid this fellow tomorrow , he's a horse I like very much but changing him from sprinting to 7furs every so often is detrimental imo, hence the lay.

A proven relatively fresh Group 1 performer running on its preferred ground over a distance it has been successful at previously, now takes on a Group 2 field that includes only one other runner with a Group 1 victory, the 9yo GLB who would prefer softer ground and is almost certainly some way off his career high mark nowadays, although still a very decent animal when running in its correct grade.

Looks a high risk lay to me because of the lack of opposition running for you that is proven or looks to have the potential to attain a Group 1 victory, nearest market rivals both have question marks about them, Massaat on prevailing ground could struggle at 7f to get in a blow and Dabyah's run in the Coronation for me looks better in the form book than it actually did visually on the day, however as it is with JG it could yet improve and for me would be the more likely to give Limato a scare.

Best of luck with your play,

Thanks Cork, Dabyah is a filly I like and backed her when she won on debut.high risk is my middle name atm.

I think Limato (messed about last season and has not progressed since) and Happily (hard race at Chantilly, and September will have her ground) could be a double lay tomorrow.

Halfords filly might have a chance, she won a g3 at Naas during the summer and never got her ground again, running poorly on heavy in the Irish 1,000 gns against Winter, getting weight she might be e/w material.

impossible123, not sure how you come to the conclusion the horse was messed about last season, five group 1 races yielded two wins, a second, a fourth and a close up sixth when running at a distance in excess of its optimum and on ground firmer than it had ever encountered.
Whilst I would accept that is has not progressed this season it certainly does not appear to have regressed and as posted above do not see anything in the field I would prefer to have on my side.

workrider, couldn't entertain Rehana, the only thing that appears in its favour is that Halford believes it was worth entering it, that Group 3 win was from a very poor field and its last run for me was about its true worth, will be disappointed if it gets within 6 lengths of the front three tomorrow.

limato has had a good break after 3 tough races this year, massaat and dabyah look the main opposition, f/c material
massaat's run in the guineas the official going was good to soft, time of the race suggests it was good ground that
day and he made his move 2f out and was headed 1f out, being a 4yo he is still open to improvement, dabyah has very
nice profile, been off the track for 4 months, how much has that improved since then? goodluck
much more

I honestly dont think Goodwood suited Limato last time, how many horses handle that track really? I wouldnt want to be a layer either considering money for the Henry Candy stable is usually signifiant in my experience.

I actually never lay Henry Candy horses when they are postive in the market its a rule of mine. Im convinced its stable money!          Oh and off topic.... Well done to Sue Gardner for the well orchestrated double gamble at Exeter yesterday Excited

I've backed it based on the look of it in parade ring. ( Tense and not subservient )

An easy win but still a lovely ride from Harry Bentley; why did the lad ever lose the ride to Moore?

"An easy win but still a lovely ride from Harry Bentley." Contradictory.

With so much racing today Limato has been lost in the programme. He won a Listed 6f race at Newmarket on good to firm ground at 4/1, yes 4/1, and a Listed race not Group 1 or Group 2. Similarly, Expert Eye won in the City Of York Stakes (a Group 3 and not Group 2/3) over 7f (yes 7f and not 8f) at York on similar ground too.

Happy days for those who wait (patiently)!
