Hard to look past this one here, won impressively on handicap debut, quickening well when asked and maintaining the gallop to the line, the front 2 were miles clear of the rest as well.
Lovely ride there. Hooked into last at the start, taken right round the whole field out wide. Given a few smacks without time to properly respond over 1f out. Win next time no doubt.

I rarely back horses in low grade races nowadays because of the amount of skullduggery. Having seen that win last time in the manner of a horse that can run up a sequence I took my chances and backed it. The game is totally unpoliced and anyone who can read a race knows what has happened there.

is it any wonder this stuff goes on when the so called pundits on the television daily have a default position of sweeping blatant rides like that under the carpet! The so called "informed" of the RUK bench chose to file the effort under "laboured" The only labouring going on through out that race was the jockey anchoring the horse.

Dear, oh dear - Beat a previous winner, readily, last time out, that has been raised 6lbs for it's win.
Harder to Lose, than Win again, today in essence.
Would have been lucky to get Evens in a similar situation in Australia - and it would have sailed in.

Indeed, onlooker. Had everything in his favour and I just assumed that they would want to win another race with their well handicapped horse. More fool me.

I could have written that post myself - Barton - as I felt, and did, exactly the same ... changing just one word, though -

We have both been around this game for a long time - and both, along with several others on here, understand the game, FULLY... You can tell that by the way certain people post.
Had it been trained by one of the 'usual suspects' - and we know who they are - or ridden by one of Betfair Eddie's ilk ... we would have then said, 'it can run without the weight of my money on it's back'.
But that one looked like a 'Proper Favourite'.

I was influenced by another horse in the same colours for the same yard that had run up a sequence of wins and been campaigned seemingly completely on his merits. Did occur to me that price looked bigger than it should have been pre race, as I posted above. But if you start not backing horses that look overpriced what's the point even bothering at all. Obviously we all back plenty of losers over the course of a season and stake wise it was only a slightly above average bet but it has really braased me off. The drift, the ride, the lack of diligence from the stewards, the media ignorance/compliance. What price would we have got if it was getting a conventional ride? 6/4? evens? 4-5. Who knows?
