has this occurred before, falling just before the line ,the only other time i remember was Devon Lock in 1956 when the horse winning grand nation and collapsing just before the line that is now 60 years ago

There was one on the flat about 3 (?) years back jockey hit the ground just on the line. He didnt get the race because one has to be on horse as it crosses the line. Pretty sure it was on a left-handed track.

Toby Balding's Amantiss at Devon & Exeter, Aug. or Sept 1986(?). That was Tony Charlton, and that was controversial, to say the least. Sitting there motionless, about to win the race, literally 10 yards from the line, yet his right leg mysteriously came over the saddle and there he was on the deck.
Then there was that one about a decade ago which cost Nevison a jackpot.
And a Fahey one, I think, at Ascot possibly, about 3 or 4 years ago.
Happens more often than is comfortable, if you're laying 999/1 about horses in second place.
