Has this forum ever been so quiet?

I think the horse racing forum should be slit into 2 groups, one for serious discussion (apologies if i'm getting above myself ) and the other to discuss sla**ing off jockeys, bent racing, Mart, personal vendettas, can't get on with ******, Dave N is a Kn*b, how much have you won, what did you have for breakfast etc etc

Lots of people can't be bothered I guess because of the "you are not allowed to reply to this post" message which requires deletion of browsing data, cookies etc.

Personally I fear for the exchanges. The flood gates were well and truly opened for all to benefit from being less than genuine. Freakish results are the norm nowadays. I don't expect every shortie to run well, but I do expect them to run better than a host of "rags" that oppose. It is unbelievable how many manage to finish out of the frame after a "drift!"

More and more people are losing interest in the flat and you're seeing the knock on effect. Even a poor card in the jumps season is better than the rubbish were seeing these days on the flat. The tracks would have few going as well if it wasn't for the concerts.

Problem with racing is the sport is bent you don't here people talk about english sport being bent but most people know racing is youngsters would rather play fobts than bet horses i'm in my 40's now and loved betting horses now i watch it and think what the feck how do they get a away with that its so bad.

So you see the problem.I posted a story on the casino site once recalling a story of when i was in Monte Carlo and a guy hit on a number with a tower of chips on it 4 out of 6 times,then moved to another number and hit 4 out of 6 times again.The pit boss was flabbergasted and people had to stop while the guy got paid out,a crowd gathered and people were looking at each other in amazement.WEIRD!!.
One poster replied that i had been pipedreaming.What's the point of posting if people say that you are lying!!!!!.No point is there?.See the problem?.
I have been a punter for 45 years and have a lot of stories to relate.How to get an edge etc,but what's the point?.

I've never signed up for social media coming but you can be sure they'll all be buzzing over something controversial on every topic , forum's have just become a bit outdated as it's all about people wanting to hear their voice these days and by as big an audience as possible ( attention seekers is another term ) but they won't get that on here as the audience is so small , not to mention the sport of racing decreasing in popularity by the day.

The problem is that 90% of the contributors to this forum are elderly, male racists with archaic misogynistic views and the world has, thankfully, had enough of them. During Covid I would pop in here to see what the most deluded, right-wing conspiracy thinking was. Moronic Daily Mail readers have no place in modern society and so the forum has rightly died. Good riddance.

It should be a safe space for everyone,daily mail readers welcome,they have knowledge,so what if they want a moan,good to get it off their chest.

Hayden, you may be right that racing has less fans than in the past but the attendance at training yards open days last week exceeded what was expected apparently so there are plenty of people willing to travel just to see horses in their box or on the gallops. You don't have to be a gambler to enjoy racing and horses. If courses reduced entry fees, they might be surprised at how many people come back racing. Then of course they need to provide good refreshments, comfortable seating etc. to keep them coming back.

As we wake to the possibility of further restrictions to our way of life I wanted to share my recent experience. I am lucky in terms of the stats. as I am an active woman in her 30s who plays a lot of sport and has no problematic health conditions. In fact, I`ve barely even had a cold and had never been to hospital other than to give birth before this year.

CV-19 changed all that. I contracted it and it was hell. I won`t go into the grim details but I was in hospital for 8 days and lost two stones very quickly. I didn`t think I`d make it. Thanks to the extraordinary NHS, however, I am still here and on the mend.

I must have seen 30-40 nurses/specialists/doctors recently, every single one of whom was passionate about social distancing and mask-wearing. Their observations regarding the non-believers and conspiracy mongers ranged from ridicule and derision to outright contempt and anger.

These professional people know what they are talking about and risk their lives for us every day as opposed to the armchair amateurs who have suddenly become experts on matters of health care. Please listen to those who deal with the situation first-hand every hour of every day and respect their opinions. Wear your mask and support your fellow men and women.

Mr Johngrace doesn't realise what the future holds for him & his family.
