I'll accept prices go up significantly on Leger day but the other 3 days they should keep prices reasonable to encourage a decent attendance - as always greed takes over

bookies should subsidise the entry fee,  make it back and the rest from the increased number of mugs turning up to back things at 2 ticks less than available here ...

Prize money for races like the Mallard and Flying Childers hasn't moved for the last 7 years, and is lower than what it was 10 years ago.

Didn't go Wednesday as 2 years ago it was unworkable.  Went yesterday and today on front line in tatts.  Business not worth a carrot either day.  As for "2 ticks under betfair" - dream on!  Front 3 in betting were freely available above the betfair price every race all day today.  Bookmaking suicide with those expenses.

Waiting for the comments about Saturday. Simple solution to the reaction of books to business on other days - don't go !

Worst days business in Tatts was Thursday,thought Friday and Saturday were fine,weather forecast didn't help and the clerk of course declaring on Monday that it was soft heavy in places which definitely impacted on the fields and the competiveness of some races when the reality was we never put the brolly up all week and I should think it was pretty good ground.
The leger Saturday card is always a hard day to win especially if you don't get a result in the Leger which doesn't happen too often,but at least Donny give you 7-8 races a day wheres at the Ebor its 6.

Adge might express his take on his local course's biggest meting - but more likely his time is taken up packing his suit case for his annual trip !

Racing industry needs to look at the whole experience -  probably needs someone from outside industry to come up with a new business model - but what is on offer at the moment endless diet of shyt racing & on going skanks aint going to draw the crowds back any time soon

I went on the Friday, got to the turnstiles and took £30 out of my pocket, thinking I would get a fiver in change. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price, £35, thought that must be to get into the Club enclosure, no, just the Grandstand. If I had known that before I would have stayed at home, I enjoy Doncaster as a track but that is taking the mickey

at least you could get a beer for as low as £4.40p in a plastic glass.
i don't know if wasnot is right regarding field sizes from advance going reports but the handicaps were a disaster apart from the portland the runner numbers were unacceptable. £25k getting 4 runners , £35k getting 5 and £50k getting 6....i believe the racecourse and trainers need to explain why
