When they first launched this, it was promoted as a competition involving the best jockeys in the world competing against each other. It isn't.
Just one look at this years' line-up confirms what we all know - the top jockeys, like most fans of horse racing don't really care about it and will be plying their trade elsewhere. The attendance figures show that it is successful as a 'fun' day out and I'd rather it be promoted and accepted as such.. |

I like it some bookies going a 1/4 odds all races and every race priced up night before.

I think it's a great betting medium too and can't see the problem with it at all. Of course it's just a fun event but once a year if it promotes horse racing to a slightly different crowd i see it as a positive rather than a negative.
