Why does that url have 2016 in the middle of it? 2016/jun/28 to be precise.

Is it because this is from last year and not "the 2nd in a month"?

It is an old un, doesn't read too well for the company tho. Sounds similar to the other woman, big deposit, 23k bets first day.

Bet365, one of the internet’s biggest bookmakers, is facing legal action from a customer over its failure to transfer a £54,000 balance to her bank account despite repeated requests over a period of months. While refusing to release the backer’s winnings on a series of horse racing bets, Bet365 also told her that she would be restricted to a maximum stake of £1 if she wished to bet with the balance but was welcome to gamble as much as she wished on gaming products, which have a guaranteed margin for the operator.

The punter, whose identity is known to the Guardian, opened an account with Bet365 on 16 April and deposited £30,000 with the firm the following day, when she placed a series of bets on horse racing and lost £23,000. She received an email from Bet365 the same day, which stated that the size of the maximum bet she was allowed to place had been increased.

The following day she placed further bets with the remaining £7,000, winning a total of £47,000, which raised her balance to about £54,000. The same day she was informed via email that in future her account would be restricted to a maximum stake of £1 on racing bets as the result of a “trading decision”.

Disappointed that Bet365 was effectively refusing her bets, the punter requested the transfer of the £54,000 balance to her debit card. More than two months later she is still waiting for Bet365 to carry out the transfer. There is no dispute about the validity of her winning bets and she received an email from the firm on 27 April which confirmed that her identity had been “fully verified”.

Bet365 imho have the best website and are big employers in Stoke but the above stories are disturbing. Which are the best, most ethical, user-friendly online bookies??

Remember reading it last year, same old same old - have what you want on our gaming site but don't expect us to be a bookmaker. They thought they got a massive rich mug and increasing the stakes was just their ploy to get more money from her that backfired. Then it's the "we are refusing to pay you under some pathetic T&C".

What should have happened in this case as soon as it was highlighted is the GC should have done a job on 365 for their efforts to "responsible gambling". The whole industry is becoming a laughing stock with non stop efforts of refusing payments on winning bets.

But at least we have the BHA/GC and the HBF kicking up a stink with the ones who do exactly what they want.

They are unregulated, the gambling commission don't want to know, and the media are complicit and drinking champagne in their hospitality boxes.

It's the Wild West out there as far as consumers in this industry are concerned...

They don't close anyone, just restrict to a maximum win of a tenner/fifteen, tell you that you can no longer bet by phone, and that if you leave any money in your account they'll take it little by little as a 'service fee'.

By not closing the accounts of the people they are discriminating against they can still tell everyone that they're 'the world's biggest bookmaker' (or whatever the latest nonsense in their rubbish ads is)...

I can't stop betting with them because I never even started. However, people on here will continue to bet with any bookmaker who will give them a better price. They will worry about getting paid or restricted afterwards.

I have been restricted by pp,no morals, sadblokes and bf sportsbook and yet 365 have always been fair with me and even paid out double result including on the fc when Simple Verse was disq in the 2015 St Ledger. I admit that last example was some time ago but have always found them to be reasonable and a few months ago I accidently clicked on a £240 tote bet instead of £2.40 and when I phoned customer services before the race went off they cancelled the bet for me.

I think most people's experience is that they'll take longer than most of them to decide if they want you, but once the door shuts you're betting in two or three pounds units only...

You could be right millhouse as I would rarely ask for more than £20 on a single horse with them if they are going top price.

365 scrutinise bets above a certain level, as to what that level is I do not know but must be around the above £500 winnings marker or so to flag for account restriction investigation

I am a member of the worlds favourite online sports betting company that don't lay any bets.

I'm hoping that my betting is 'below the radar' at £10 per bet (or £10 each way) and about £30 per day for a multiple bet. It's been that amount for years now and I've no intention of upping my stakes at all. I've no need to.

Yeah there is a threshold that 365 work to, but just like their millions of customers accounts, it is under scrutiny all the time

I  backed the second in the Yarmouth race and contacted bet365 an d said they should do the decent thing and pay me,money in account within the hour

Of all the accounts I have, B365 have been the one I've had no issues with. Have yet to be ' pushed back ' on a stake.

Facts - I'm the same, but I seem to remember we had a long discussion about all this about 6 months ago or more maybe. It's probably all still there somewhere in the past history of this forum.

@factmachine can get much more online than at the course with your bigger margins and boards not even prepared to take a ton. Most of the course bookies are just laying off on the machine anyway.

Are they - where does one find a buyer as in the real world I've never heard of or met anyone that has paid for or sold a bet 365 account or even talks about it in the first hand - sounds good though. Now back to my quite nicely in profit but obviously a 'recreational' punter b365 account.........

Facts & spyker - I think I'm in the same boat as you two. Been with these bookies about 10 years now - let's just say without giving anything away, I've no cause for complaint (so far - touch wood!)
