whats happened to all the money that used to be in the horse racing markets? Large moves are occurring as there's nothing propping up the markets! How times have changed
I'm packing in soon as there is one person controlling the direction of the markets - good luck to them but if it continues they might find that its no fun playing on your own!

RAPID decline over the last few months (as more folk backed too low and layed too high and went skint as a result)....
some of us said that's how it would pan out but nobody gave a t0$$....
certainly not BETFAIR anyway (or should i say paddy power betfair)...
all seems to have gone t1t$ up since the merger....
amazing that.

Race timings today hasn't helped, too much racing and 2 or 3 races starting on top of each other. Racing popularity is in decline as the bookies are losing punters in droves because they will only take bets of any size from mugs. Betfair is caught up in this cycle of decline with falling demand and it can only get worse.

it's blatantly obvious batfair (now paddy power betfair) gave up on in running horses on the exchange a long time ago....
they are a lot happier folk playing on their sportsbook and folk playing casino games etc...
they make plenty from tennis / football etc...
in running horses on the exchange has been allowed to get in to the utter mess it is now quite happily...
last embers for me....
can see me making it through to the end of the flat then calling it a day....
my health is more important now.

An in-running bot obviously can't race read so it must be laying/backing the field when the %s are right to do so.
That seems to me to be a completely separate discipline to the fast pics play so I don't think the bots are to blame for the poor liquidity, in fact it could be argued that they should help liquidity.

no-one sues Betfair because they know that the courts wouldn't have a hope of understanding the technicalities involved. Take that race the other night where there was a huge underround at BFSP, anyone who laid the winner at BFSP was well and truly ripped off but the courts would never be able to get to grips with it.

the bottom line is that betfair (now paddy power betfair) are clearly happy with the current scenario...
if they weren't then they'd have done SOMETHING about it by now....
they've been told often enough about dwindling in running liquidity (getting worse by the day now imv)...
and they have done rock all about it for a long long time...
so the only conclusion anyone could possibly reach is that they are happy to let it die a slow death...
folk will slowly drop away and eventually the in running liquidity will dry up so much it'll make purpleDAQ look good...
if betfair (now paddy power betfair) wanted to fix this they could....
draw your own conclusions.
