I worked for the owner Maj Glover.A stokbroker. It was a fairly good sprinter and ran up to  age 15 or 16.

I saw him run at Folkestone in August 1970. He was 15. He was in a 6f seller. My dad backed him, but was disappointed when he saw him go down to the start "he looks a bit stiff in his joints!" he said to me. He ran 4th of 6, in blinkers, ridden by P Eddery, claiming 3.

Didn't Phil Bull own him at one time ?

Yes, many of Phil Bull's horses were named after characters from Greek history, or mythology, or other classical origins. sparrow has put a piece about the horse on another Phil Bull thread lower down.

I went to Marathon when we were in Athens a long time ago as I though such a famous place deserved a visit. The hotel receptionist said that he had not heard of other tourists ever going there.
There is the burial mound where the Greek dead were buried but there was not much more to commemorate it.
