Just about to upgrade as my old HD+ box has blown.... are they the same speed for RUK compared to old box?
Also, can you get RUK in multi rooms?
Serious replies only please, Cheers...

Can't help you with Sky Q. But RacingUK comes on three devices for the one subscription, so you can have it in your living room, bedroom, and tablet.

I have Sky Q and run 3 x mini Q boxes as well as the main box, all have RUK on. You will need an upgraded RUK subscription which was simple to sort out over the phone

No idea about speed as that's not important to me as I play pre-race

Hope this helps

I had the same thought. Will there be a greater delay on Ruk pictures via a Sky Q box compared to the present HD box. I can't believe this question hasn't been asked before. Ruk is just about playable for I/R purposes at the moment but even a slightly longer delay would make it impossible in my view.

Speed: It seems the same when compared to Live video.
Multi-room: I was told I had to upgrade my RUK subscription to have it on another box. As I'm paying £10 a month I refused to pay the requested £34.99.

Racing UK Anywhere enables you to watch on three devices out of a possible seven. The seven available devices include one Sky viewing option only, so there would be an additional charge for Sky Multi-room.*

*Sky Multiroom costs an additional £10 or €10 per month

someone might confirm but my brief discussions with an independent sat engineer were;

the main box is hard wired, in effect no different to a the old sky plus box so in theory if that is the box you are watching you really shouldn't see much difference unless Sky have completed fecked the new boxes for some other technical reason

however, any extra sky q boxes for multi room are wireless and are fed from the main box, the feeling was that there has to be some lag even if v small between the main box and the wifi fed sky q box

i got conflicting info re whether it uses your wifi or its own wifi to achieve this transfer of info, i also read some users complained of slower internet speeds after installing skyq especially when the boxes are updating but it's only stuff i've seen on the net

one other thing i discovered as an aside was that currently 4k pics are only fed through the main box. if you want to have multi room for a 4k tv the main box needs to be wherever that tv is, so all of you boys with an office that are thinking of having the main box there won't be able to have a 4k picture in your lounge on that nice shiny 3 grand tv you've just purchased if you're worried about having the fastest pic in your den

apart from a brief discussion with the sat bod these are bits dragged from around the net, no idea if it's 100% accurate but I've given up on ruk now, it's barely ahead of live vid and i don't need it these days; unless they do something radical with pic speed i won't bother in future, there are ways around it and it's too small a part of my profit

good post elise, my reason for not switching is the about the main sky q box being the hub for the multi rooms....if you are not already experiencing lag the connectivity uses are terrible for some with the wifi often losing connection or worst scenario going down, also you can't take a box to another location anymore (holiday home, caravan, whichever!) they all have to stay in the same house....i'll stick with my 8yo amstrad sky boxes

there will be No difference until ruk up there fps which is native at 30fps at the moment ... this day and age horse racing should be 60fps and when it happens you will see it alot smoother and when recorded side by side it will be ahead as its pushing more frames onto ur screen quicker but only milliseconds fasterCool
