And they say BSP is efficient. It's full of holes like a swiss cheese. I mean have 9 profitable lay systems and I'm testing 5 more, with another 5+ on the back burner. I henceforth declare myself the lay god.

"And they say BSP is efficient"

It's efficient in its entirety. Fortunately we don't have to follow it in its entirety.

Yeah I know but it's kind of hard to believe that even with many blatant inefficiencies it's efficient in the end. Like yesterday I laid two odds on favs, Black Warrior and Whitecliffsofdover, both finished 3rd, losing to BSP 15, 32, 8.8 and 286. In an efficient market, 285/1 should not ever win by 4 and a half lengths. Or 4 days ago Brian the Snail @1.85 lost by 21 lengths on a 5f sprint - good job market. I laid that nag also.

im curious about this for a reason stated on a thread last week.gaze what is your agenda here 1)showing that it can be done and looking for recognition and praise or 2)looking to sell said system ...

ok lol.."showing and bragging" to whom..an anonymous forum with no real evidence or proof given.its  a bit sad really gaze if thats what you need to boost your self esteem.

I have proof on a certain proofing site, I'm known as the lay god. I didn't want to bring it up, you did.

And don't act like you never bragged about anything gambling related. Everyone does that.

Besides, my success could bring some optimism to jaded punters who think the game can't be reasonably beaten at BSP. If I can do it, anyone with dedication can.

I think it's good for everyone to know that there is still plenty of money to be made. It will bring more people to try. And the fact that in 2017 there are such big market inefficiencies, it means the market will survive for many years to come.

"i have proof on a certain proofing site"...ok what is this site you dont seem shy in letting people know your prowess so please name the site..otherwise you are just going to end up looking like another sad deluded nutter who can only achieve any kind of recognition/self esteem by making up b o ll ocks through the internet anonymously ....

If I had a 10k bankroll, the balls to risk 500 to 1000 per horse and the systems worked the same I'd have 70k in 4 months, that's crazy. But I'll get there.

You've clumped together 9 systems to get around 543 selections,

you can't do this statistically and treat them all as one system

I can clump together twenty systems around the same no of selections and get returns way above 17% but the samples individually are nowhere near big enough to assume anywhere near the necessary confidence.

One of the biggest mistakes to make is batching small samples into a bigger one and treating the data as homogeneous Gaze.

But they aren't clumped together in a chronological manner. There are picks from May in the first 10% of the graph for example. I just stringed together one system after another into one spreadsheet.

And if one system fails, two more will replace it, like a hydra.

if you had been profiting from these systems for 4 months, there is no way on God's Earth you would not have been all over this forum telling anyone that would listen all about your brilliant, infallible systems raking in the dough off all the mugs out there...so i can only presume these are no more than paper profits
By:
Gaze733
When: 22 May 17 11:09
Well from the 543 picks I actually placed only maybe 150 and that was to win €5-20 on each. Of course I paper betted most of it. You can't just go "I think horses with X and Y conditions are probably bad value" and start with risking €100 on each.
By:
stridingedge
When: 22 May 17 11:13
it doesn't matter if they are in chronological order you have said 9 systems, if they have different parameters then you can't treat them all as one.
By:
Gaze733
When: 22 May 17 11:21
Doesn't matter, I can tell a good system from a bad one. I have one system that has 10 WINNING horses out of 15 lays at 3+ odds. I can confidently say it won't work, but it can turn out to be a good backing system.
By:

When: 22 May 17 11:28
Gaze, you must waste hours a day. You start the thread saying you have won £7.5k, now you say it is all "paper trading" imaginary bets. What about all the backing systems you have?

Scrape together £1,000 and make £7,000 in 4 months.
By:
Gaze733
When: 22 May 17 11:39
I do have 1k but I'm not prepared to make big bets yet. I'm used to risk fivers and tenners to win 20s and 50s. Losing 100 on one horse would throw me off, let alone 2 or 3 in one day. Losing a back bet is no big deal but with a lay you always feel stupid for picking the one horse out of 12 that won, plus you have to pay for it. I'll get the confidence in 2 months if all goes well.
By:
big aitch
When: 22 May 17 12:01
only risk £100 then to make £700, or you could admit that statement about making £70k was a load of nonsense

I should make at least 500. But there's one more problem - to have time to run all the systems I'd have to quit my job. I can only do about 5 systems at the moment.

What about doing it weekends only, and making do with £200 profit?
By:
Gaze733
When: 22 May 17 12:18
Like I said I can easily do 5 systems every day which is plenty enough if I only had the confidence to use big stakes. During weekends I do testing and updating my 100 spreadsheets.

Now I'm going to sneak in some form reading during office hours like I do every day, heh.
