I think it's definitely not a 2 horse race.. ..
Anyone if either LIGHTNING, Somehow or Aclaim can take this... |

With the boys in blue running Toscanini as a pacemaker could well get Galileo Gold at it earlier than Dettori would want allowing Ribchester to benefit, wouldn't discount Somehow though, who will enjoy a good pace to run at and definitely perform on the ground and is the value bet at 7's for me with RM doing the pushing.

Lightening Spear will like the going and ran well in this race last year.Should be staying on late,Pacemaker could help this one.
Galileo Gold's trainer not quite in top form which is a negative. Ribchester might not settle on this slow ground but has class. Ribchester/Lightning Spear rev f/c |

I think the pacesetter Toscanini could be the deciding factor for Ribchester, the best horse on rating and form, and Galileo Gold; Galileo Gold was just behind Rib but ran gassy on more than one occasion last season; Lightning Spear ran his best race when behind Rib and Minding; Somehow is no Minding, and will need further than 1m to show her best despite a wide margin win last time.
I think this race could be Rib's to lose, all things being equal. |

Have Ribchester backed since Meydan, and I think he's well clear here. Lightning spear the only danger for me, not worried about the others!

Hoping Mitchum swagger can run into a place. Want it to keep raining

Myself looking no further then Lighting as i think this is the Gp1 that Mr Simcock fancies he can get, good luck to all.

Somehow to collar Rib on the line

Just about to ask if Aiden is at the track...and almost immediately he pops on ITV Racing. Somehow is his only runner...a big clue?

The Coolmore money is down, 7/1 to 4/1 for Somehow.

I heard Ribchester had an unreported problem over the winter.Place laid it for a fair chunk at Meydan-unfortunately-don't be surprised if he blows out completely.

What time are they going to start this race?

Should be a big fine for Clerk of Course and/or starter for not making the jockeys get on with it.

Did n't have a bet and if I had, I would have backed Aclaim each way but missed the best prices this morning...
So this is an after time...I can't believe the gamble on Somehow, admirable animal but she has nowhere near the level of form needed to win an open aged Group 1 over a mile. I don't believe that was Coolmore money, just people looking for value against the favourite given the holes in Galileo Gold. Before today AOB had only had 2 placed from 9 runners over 10 years in the Lockinge so hardly a race he targets. I expect Minding will be ready to roll at Royal Ascot. |

Job done!

Indeed, job done and another one for the boys in blue.
Ribchester is only 2/1 for the Queen Anne t Royal Ascot unless Minding (Prince of Wales) turns up. As for Galileo Gold back to the drawing board to learn to contain his exuberance prior to any race. |

No mention of Ed's conspiracy theory? ie the plan was to fool everyone into thinking it was going to be a strong pace with Toscanini when all they wanted was Ribchester to get a soft lead and easy fractions in front....plan was always to break slowly with Toscanini and never go to the lead with him.
