Visited and read.
Who are ... Sportsbetting and Gaming Services - "SGS" ? A google search comes up precious little - other than a (probably accommodation) address in Malta A 'Company/Director Check' - comes up with 'Zero' |

What comes across about them is that they seem to have used customers deposits/winnings/balances to finance other areas of the business(s). No different to banks investing savings in the investment banking market to some degree. If everyone went to withdraw at the bank at the same time the banks are screwed but that doesn't seem to have happened here which suggests they are very thinly capitalised and if it was my money I'd be very worried. The quotes from the firm seem like stalling tactics but a more worrying area is the views of the GC and the BHA..."nothing to do with us". WTF are the GC for if it isn't to hold firms to account as per the terms of their license. In a lot of regulated businesses they are liable to ring fence customers/investors deposits otherwise they can't operate and are subject to regular revies to ensure they comply, why don't the GC bring in something like this?

Here's SGS's page on the Gambling Commission site: https://secure.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/PublicRegister/Search/Detail/38949 They have a handful of other domain names in addition to Seanie Mac |

Of course people like betting stories that's why you see so-and-so won £200k for a £1 bet in the tabloids. |

Chris - does your paper's website count visits, and use the count to decide whether to keep you on the payroll, or whether to tell you to only write stories about female jockeys?

*I had already visited, btw. And what do the Gambling Commission do to help such punters, or anyone, apart from indicate that they can contact some independent 3rd party if they feel so inclined?

Heh, no it's not quite like that, Ged.
And, like you, I'd definitely like to see more visible action from the Gambling Commission |
