I have been involved with Racing and betting for over 40 years and with the advent of the exchanges I never understand why more people do not do Safe Betting, having discussed this with a colleague I started to put my Safe Betting Ideas on line at paddockwatcher.com I would love to discuss this with anyone interested.

There's never been and never will be anything 'safe' about betting whatever anyone advises you.

No body advises me, of course there is risks with all betting by Safe betting I do not mean you will not lose, I mean try to limit the loss by covering your bet with another, Hard to explain but I keep building my bank, Granted slowly and most people want to go for the big win each day, I have been through all that, and I am happy with what I do, slow daily profits and of course with losing days as well.

If you're providing your 'safe betting' service free of charge, good luck to you.

Just a chat site basically, and as it says they are "My Thoughts" they are not tips, it is the way I back horses.

As it says I am only just creating the site and since I only started it in April my Safe bets have had 9 days in profit with 11 Safe Bets and one losing day, it doesn't always go that way of course, this is racing we are talking about

I knew that would happen, but it really makes no odds to me.

I have been doing this for 40yrs myself,I do it on a regular basis, today I'm at Naas  and will text a few lads who value my judgement around the paddock.I get it wrong sometimes and am sure I cost them a few quid,I got it totally wrong re Elliots mare at Punchestown last Thurs and she hosed up.I thought I saw something about her that would effect her chances of winning but was way off the mark too my cost.If you enjoy doing it good and well, but if it becomes a profit thing and you decide to charge for your opinion that's another matter.Hopefully you will continue to enjoy your racing and I wish you all the best.

Thanks Work Rider they are two separate things really, Safe Betting is what I do off course, Paddock Watching is what i do on my own and the same as you text a few friends, I do not intend to do much with that, I know what you mean I remember having a week where I could do nothing wrong from Paddock side went to Pontefract and picked 5/6 I went to Bath later in the week brimming with confidence and only managed one in the frame. Lessons Learned I think

Different strategies work for different people - I still think the only people who make it pay are horse owners / trainers on the inside - Findlay , JP Mc - Barney Curley - if your on the outside its just a fruit machine industry - if your on the inside - it means precisely just that

OP. Not a lot of people have got the patience to build up slowly and not go for the "big wins". a lot of punters do it for the thrill and they are the ones lining the bookmakers' pockets. GL to you sir.

OP, I read the blog today and it's all over the place. You're complicating things. keep it simple. It's very hard to see what you are actually advising as a lot of it just seems to be ramblings!! Get your safe bets sorted and get them out.
