He gives me the creeps with his smiley fake charm with winning connections, he's always delighted for them, couldn't have happened to nicer people etc. .... presumably leaching to get them involved in his racing club?

I used to like those thommo interviews that ended with his sincere "enjoy the moment" - I used to think how can they enjoy the moment if he just ruined it.

Its this constant love in that everyone is so nice. Its the same on RTE every jockey is a great fella, every trainer is a wonderful family man and a hard worker and what is really funny is that they think they sound sincere spewing all this carp about each other.Does anyone have time for Blake..?

Surprises me to see so many of you slagging off Fitzy, makes me wonder what kind of people you are, but I'm not too curious, I can guess. Personally I've always liked him and he was high on my list of great jockeys. I think his "nice bloke" image is genuine, he is a nice bloke and people talk to him willingly and naturally, which is why ITV will do well to keep him.

I have got to say Fitzy's interviews are toe-curlingly embarrassing and I suspect some of his interviewees feel the same. Mick may indeed be a nice man but he brings absolutely no useful insight to the watching punter and he is massively over-used, seemingly appearing on all TV channels daily. There appears to be nothing he won't do in pursuit of an extra pound - I seem to remember reading on here that when one of his tips won (rare) he asked the client to have £50 on for him at SP! Nice man Fitzy......hmmm. He certainly tries very hard to convince us he is!

Here is the story about the Mick Fitzgerald "put £50 on for me" scam. As far as I know he's still doing it.http://www.puntersverdict.co.uk/articles/march-2012/mick-fitzgerald.php
Thanks Birkdale - hopefully the misguided TV shirts will read this and bring Mick's runaway gravy train to a halt!
Fitzy's interviewing 'technique' makes Thommo look like Jeremy Paxman by comparison!

If Fitzy had a trilby, a moustache, an open racecard, a deferential demeanour and a non-rhotic southern accent, would he be more acceptable to his more rabid critics? Perhaps horse racing gets the presenters it deserves. Anyone for genuine John McCririck?

Spotted Fitzy in the Punchestown 'village' earlier being fitted for a Harris Tweed Birkdale Grey blue Weave Blazer. Cavalry twill or corduroy trousers? Decisions!

Could Fitzy for once offer something at the end of an interview without the words "very well done" in his insincere tone of voice which is fecking embarrassing

Great to hear Captain Fitztastic back at the helm again. Thanks to his mellifluous tones and insightful comments, we can be sure that the Good Ship Horse Racing will enjoy another successful voyage. "Nice guys always win!" Time for a celebratory sea shanty, shipmates!

"Lucky punter wins £823000 from a £19 online bet". FIVE winners at Punchestown! I hope he was one of Fitzy's clients. Now let's see ..... a £50 accumulator on winners at 10/1, 9/2, 7/1, 10/1 and 33/1 would net ...? Some tipping! Will it be "Goodbye AttheRaces"?
