i'm pleased to receive my first quarterly payment from the BRBA association on time.  those that requested bank transfers , this was done last friday and all others , the cheques were posted yesterday.
as the racing partnership sent the quarterly funds to the associations late last week can everyone confirm that those who opted for the FRB contracts have also received their due income payment [ and with no expenses deduction ]
if anyone hasn't received their funds by thursday would you please contact your contract provider .

For clarification adge by 'contract provider' do you mean either FRB or BRBA ? I assume there will be consistency between all 'contract providers'.
Report adge April 25, 2017 2:57 PM BST
yes , democrat , both have received the quarterly cash from the racing partnership and should have sent it on by now to all bookmakers who's cash it is by rights

Report adge April 28, 2017 9:04 AM BST
from 1st january to 31st march only doncaster , windsor , worcester , wolverhampton , southwell and lingfield...fakenham , hexham and towcester are added and 13 other courses next january.
you should have received £25 per attendance plus £150 [ annual lump sum ] from the BRBA or £27 per attendance from the FRB.
so as yet , democrat , this probably may not affect you

i'll lay 6/4...if this does affect you , contact who you signed up with immediately .

Why the stirring adge?  I'm happy with my money being handled by the FRB.  Its up to each individual to decide.
Report adge April 28, 2017 10:38 AM BST
no stirring , wasnot. but personally i would rather that my money was handled by me rather than anyone else.
you mention the FRB . they promised to make payments quarterly and in full.
has the payment to bookmakers to 31st march been paid accordingly as per contracts ?..it should have , don't you agree ?
Report wasnot April 28, 2017 11:34 AM BST
Its the first payment of that type adge and to be fair the FRB are dealing with an awful lot more bookmakers than the BRBA.  I'm sure it will be fine once its all up and running.  I'm not remotely concerned.

Report democrat April 28, 2017 3:38 PM BST
Could this news have some far reaching implications for your man adge ?
Report adge April 28, 2017 7:59 PM BST
it could , democrat . i've just had a phone conversation with roger.he , or his staff can't work any pitches until a new licence is in place for starters.
Report IanP April 29, 2017 8:46 AM BST
Assuming you are referring to S&F.  Why does the death of one of the partners mean the other can't work ?
Report adge April 29, 2017 10:21 AM BST
since the gambling commission came on the scene they insisted that only one of a partnership needed a schedule x licence , the other just requiring a schedule y , ian.
the schedule x licence is solely in mick smith's name and is now at an end. where it stays until roger completes his paperwork . meanwhile two regular staff members are out of work.
let's hope that the GC don't take their usual delay too
Report IanP April 29, 2017 10:40 AM BST
That's strange, adge.  I'm sure the GC advised me to register both partners. Surely there's now going to be complicatipns for them if all the pitches were in Mick's sole name.  The pitches will form part of his estate so there could be death duties , AGT costs in transferring the name etc. etc.
Report democrat April 29, 2017 10:11 PM BST
When 'paper ownership' is not the same as 'real ownership' there can be problems if plans are not in place for all eventualities.
Report democrat May 4, 2017 10:42 PM BST
Following this sad news adge can we expect to see some additional pitches to appear under the AP banner to enable 'normal service' to be resumed ?
Report adge May 5, 2017 10:05 AM BST
not likely democrat. roger is being well advised by the gambling commission. is helping mick's daughter regarding transfer and sale of pitches. and most sensible of all becoming a member of the BRBA which then provides his insurance cover.
Report factmachine May 5, 2017 12:07 PM BST
ADGE,I THINK YOU WILL FIND THATS THE ONLY REASON THE VAST MAJORITY OF YOUR MEMBERS ARE WITH THE BRBA AND THE OTHER SELF SERVING ORGANISATIONS,INSURANCE!
Report adge May 5, 2017 1:20 PM BST
for some like yourself , factmachine  , you are probably correct but the majority of BRBA members are now profiting greatly from the levy contracts that the BRBA have negotiated. all our contract holders are now getting prompt and immediate payments every three months which is a vast improvement on that tired , old out of date system which we have had to endure for many years
Report democrat May 5, 2017 2:19 PM BST
Advised y the GC ? That's a bit worrying ! Are you hinting at RW getting a full licence ? I thought, perhaps wrongly, that was the one thing he always avoided.
Report adge May 5, 2017 3:28 PM BST
he is , democrat. has no other choice
Report democrat May 5, 2017 10:56 PM BST
Ok. If successful some of your existing arrangements will not be viable surely ?
Report adge May 5, 2017 11:05 PM BST
no , can't be a schedule x on one and a schedule y on another.
one thing for certain , I'm not going to volunteer to pay £100 to alter my licence
Report adge May 8, 2017 9:48 AM BST
have been hearing a racecourse rumour that data payments from FRB are to be £8 for tatts attendances and £3 for cheap rings but not paid until the end of june. I'm assuming that this is for the long overdue 2015 attendances.
am I the only one finding this seriously troubling.?
Report adge May 8, 2017 9:54 AM BST
for those on the BRBA contracts with turf tv  please remember to submit your attendances for march , april and may promptly at the end of this month so that the BRBA can pay you your due amount by mid june.

Crikey! ok,not really something to discuss on here I guess but i'm more than happy with my arrangements with JCR.
I like many more took the opportunity to buy in in 98/99 and seen many things happen which I disagreed with yet this seems to have some peoples knickers in a right twist, its a shame our money wasn't used to fight boards on rails and the use of exchanges on course which have had a massive effect on our business but hey ho we are we are and am happy to get on with things.
I'm not getting in an argument and obviously plenty disagree with me so no problem but when I was approached to buy  the pitch I certainly didn't jump at the chance as even though its Cheltenham its national hunt which I've cut down to a minimum and as I bet at Donny close to home it clashed all the time (I've actually never myself bet in the pitch yet) and I considered it over priced to boot, but having learnt a few things about what was going off and as I disagree strongly with how the FRB is run I decided to buy it and have absolutely no idea how the court case will go and am certainly not going to worry about it either so good luck everyone and its goodnight from me.

Ribero - Whilst the loss of thousands of pounds may be 'no big deal' to you....it certainly would be to many others....something you and any other organisation/individual would do well to bear in mind.

Dave367 - Hindsight may indeed be a wonderful thing....but in this instance, it was FORESIGHT that was sadly lacking amongst our courtyard 'colleagues'.

Ribero - Agree 100% regarding boards on rails and exchanges...and probably many other things to do with on-course bookmaking....but amazed at your indifference to the courtyard result... the law of 'unintended consequences' already appears to be playing out...looking at the Aintree list, one bookmaker may lose his three pitches as a direct result of YOUR position on the the Courtyard....are you indifferent to that ???
Report democrat May 9, 2017 1:23 PM BST
Self interest is rife whenever pitches are discussed. Whichever way the courtyard case goes a precedent will be set which will be detrimental to future bookmaker/racecourse relations. It is inconceivable that the original draft of 'the contract would be everlasting and without anomalies.

Mug,despite what some on here are saying it is only speculation at this moment in time, presumably these pitches at Aintree were out of the number before these areas came in and like myself with the rails (hence why it was relatively cheap) the pitch holder must have always felt a degree of uncertainty?
