9.2 it was - not a clue why - very odd

in 7 years I have not seen such a strange behavior:
10 seconds before the off price felt in 1 blink of an eye from 25ish to 3-4ish; then in play we had a stake of 9000ish at 9.2, price up to 21ish, then steam to win.
for me clearly a manipulation: who and why brought down the price from 25ish to 3-4ish 10 seconds before the off? I have seen many strange things on betfair, but never anything like this.

I did see on the graph it went to 2.0ish , I didn't know if it was before the off or not though .

might explain the 9k lay . someone made a mistake backing it pre race and was trying to get some back laying it at 9.2 in-running

oh, 2ish, yes, could be, it was clearly pre-race. it seemed like a mis-working bot (what I saw sometimes).
then yes, could be: the 9k lay was to correct the mistake, not-expecting that the horse will win. probably you are right.

I didn't see the pre race price crash either , but I saw the £9,500 in the in-running market , I got none of it as I was watching the favourite, but the 9k disappeared pretty sharpish coming into the bend

Mr Michael Chung the owner of the previous race winner Dusty Blue and Bouclier is a big player and landed a little bit of a coup with the double. He could have been hedging in-running with the liabilities running on at early big prices.

He seems to flit from one trainer to another and moves horses at the drop of a hat as Tony Carroll and Michael Appleby have since found out.

No idea what went on but surely not the owner ....  they're not allowed to lay their horses ...not even in error MischiefDevil
