Most of them are democracies.

yes right, i am thinking of moving to colombia.In the last two years, the amount of reported homicides has doubled. The murder rate is 24 times that of New York City, making it a crime rate of 175.2. Same as the insular Welsh singing some song about a Leek, before the Chepstow Welsh National - and delaying the start so much, that several horses were left, or slowly away, following the interminable wait for the bloody singing, and then the then Starter panicked, with the ragged start that followed.
Suppose we will be stuck with sodding Flower of Scotland at Ayr shortly, aswell.

I agree, ours is awful. My favourites (based on hearing them being played before football matches) are Wales, Brazil, Russia and the best of all, France.

Queen Victoria's offspring especially as regards the causes of the 1st World War,I've never understood the fascination which the working classes
hold for the institution. While Liz is OK the institution should have been finally put to bed after Cromwell's interventions. Getting back to
the National Anthems; the French had the right idea and that's why their's is the best!

Cromwell was a religious fundamentalist. It would be like leaving the country in the hands of the Ayatollahs. He banned Christmas FFS. He is also not universally admired by our Irish cousins.

Christmas was not celebrated in Scotland till when into the 1950s.
The Presbyterian strain of Protestantism is indeed very puritanical.
That is why the inside of scottish (protestant) churchs are bare.
I went to a catholic funeral about 10 years ago, for the first time ever, the inside was like an arcade in comparison. Lots of bling.
Of course can never do anything properly. Even with a reformation they became catholic lite, keeping theri bishops with the pointy hats etc.

The National Anthem will stay the same won't it? Apart from replacing "queen" with "king".
We should have an English anthem, such as Land of Hope and Glory. The GSTQ anthem is a dirge in my opinion.
