You have consigned me to scraping the knockings out of a Prince's Salmon Paste jar this evening - I hope you're happy.
Well done Lord Birchy!Credit wear it's dew.You have consigned me to scraping the knockings out of a Prince's Salmon Paste jar this evening - I hope you're happy.
He got lucky. Landed on a stable in form on the day. And Moore at Plumpton. And FAVOURITE. Rumour has it he begged Brucie for his wages in advance this month, so bad are his finances. Silly idiot!!

2 in a row was asking too much wasn't it. Rare a blind squirrel finds 2 nuts in a day. However, another losing day, to sp, for our dummy. Roll on tomorrow........

Utterly remarkable. How can he be so consistently clueless. He's actually getting WORSE Didn't think it possible. These horses are running as though they KNOW Birchy is on their back. And how come he's "tipped" up 4 today? I thought Brucie only allowed him 3 shots at the dartboard. Wish he would write a column every day. We could ALL give up work ha ha haaaaaaaaaa. Hey Birchy, any chance you can pick out some random 10-1 lays? SO WE CAN BACK THEM

Just come off the phone with McPherson who is seething and as a practising lawyer has already begun drafting a 'Birchy Clause' that will allow trainers to withdraw their charge right up to the 'Off' should his Lordship give them a favourable mention.

Just found the above article, they were moaning about him 4 years ago....................you literally could give up your job laying his selections

Would 'Old Birchonians' please return their 2017 Annual Dinner acceptance forms by Friday please - I am booking the Churchill Rooms in Parliament this year and given it's only a short journey from 'The Other Place' I am very hopeful his Lordship will be able to join us.

whilst I appreciate this is all a bit of a laugh, are any of you concerned that threads like this could end up costing a man his job. I'm well aware of the argument that if you are a tipster you live and die by your selections and they haven't been going at all well but it takes a long time in racing for anyone to lose their job but could this reduce the timescale by bringing attention to it. I don't know the guy but I'm guessing he has a wife and kids to feed. It is all rather amusing but it seems a bit unfair to put the boot in too much on Birchy when many other newspaper tipsters aren't much better. Am i alone in thinking this?

NO you are not alone in this asparagus, apparently rayman posted earlier that birchys coloumn is only a bit of banter and should not be
taken seriously, so if that is the case alls well i suppose.
ps , i assume his " tips " are read by his employees.

it's almost as if his whole column is a spoof/satire.
still its april soon and he'll no doubt be banging in the winners, i imagine april 1st is a particularly profitable day for the sage.

If The Post are worried about this then they should do an article on losing runs, something that affects us all, yet the least talked about subject in racing. He's obviously having a bad time of it and Pricewise is another who has had some horrendous runs and yet it's all brushed under the carpet. I recently had a losing run of 24 in row myself (and I've had worse in the past) and how you deal with these runs, keep your composure and not chase is what separates the winners from the losers.

Why on earth would anyone feel sorry for BIRCHY. The joker is afforded EVERY privilege a punter could wish for............and still can't make it pay !!!!!

No, I dont feel one bit sorry for him. In todays RFO he talks about last Saturday when he had £320 on a loser, followed by £320 e/w on an unplaced but our hero gets out of trouble with a £320 win at 7/2 on Ascot De Bruyere with 3.6.5. He has a footie bet this week folks with 1 bag on Port Vale on Saturday. Vale are in the relegation zone so a win must be needed, Phil Taylor must be fuming.

Barrowboy, that's not a fair comparison. In the restaurant example I would have spent lots of cash and had a miserable time. I'm not following Birchy's tips so it makes no difference to me. To be quite frank i would rather the tipsters in the Post be hopeless rather than good ones like Hugh Taylor who marks the bookies cards and collapses prices with no one being able to get on. I don't follow any tipsters, i trust my own opinion but good tipsters concern me much more than bad ones.

I see we have found a poor naive punter in nicko. At least you only lost 2 quid son, but you need to learn quick. Don't do it again. Birch is rancidly hopeless, as today proved yet again. I mean, how can a supposed "tipster" give 4 selections AND GET THEM ALL UNPLACED ffs? This is not a one off, it's regular. He is however, paying my mortgage, as the cash cow keeps churning out the dollars. Cheers Birchy, you're the best

cheers asparagus, but i dont think its a bad comparison.just because you dont back his tips doesnt mean that others dont,im sure there are plenty that do with the inevitable losses.tbf birch has had a column in the RP (& RFO) for a good number of years & apart from his greyhound input which was ok his selections have invariably been useless,so i doubt millington would get rid just because of **** take thread on here after all this time.if you headline tips in the trade paper surely your fair game.

I went to school with Couch, skinny as a rake he used to be. Birchy is great for us, everyone on here must have made a nice few quid laying his tips, he has paid for Vegas this year for me, in all honesty, he is one useless guessing fantasist

that one fits birchys selection profile perfectly, fav in a small field apparently down in grade. top weight in a slog round sedgefield, claimer on board, form of horse in decline,im more than happy to take it on at the price.

The naivety and gullibility is staggering. He also went for Blaklion, so he's done a clever headline without realising it!! The obligatory 2 stone extra has, unfortunately, been applied to both said beasts.

Some statement by tilted. How would he know such a thing? The Bircher couldn't make a profit if you gave him 2-1 heads and 2-1 tails ffs. The guy is as rotten and as clueless as they come. That being the case, you do NOT show a profit 8 years out of 10

Tilted, if, uniquely in this industry, you are allowed to cherry pick every price you want without question, often the night before racing, and the bookmakers never close or restrict your account, even though the horses you are backing all move in price, IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO LOSE, EVEN IF YOU CHOOSE THE PRICE RICS AT RANDOM...

He gets what he wants on at what prices, and he is still useless, 1 winner from around 25, he must be going down the back of the settee every week to help pay for his grub
