Has to be said, if there's any horse worth a backer leaving up a blind 1.0x lay, it's that one. How the hell did it actually win a race last time.

At least you got the value. I took the 1.01.

Why was Felix trying to win on the bridle , Maloney gave the horse the same ride but made it's mind up with two sharp cracks of the whip and away it went last time while Felix tried to be smart

horse is a dog end of - blinkers on for 1st time last run which probably helped but hard to criticise jockey there cos he wuda been beaten further if he had tried to win race any earlier

knowing the history of the horse there was nothing FDG could do imo, just a complete dog

That race was the exception, not the norm. The norm is for the horse to throw the towel in, which he did today. Once the horse knows he is in a race, it's white towel time.

looked like he had his nose in front about 50 yards from the line, i dont think anyone could have done it any better and it still threw it away.

How come Steve? Because I didn't trade out perhaps? Easy to be wise after the event but looked home and hosed to me......,until the choke was pulled out.

Could he have brought the horse wider?

I remember Pat Eddery doing that with Kalanisi to avoid a ding dong with Giants Causeway.

It's actually won two races but that's not the point. Yes the horse is a dog but I thought it could have taken care of the beasts it was up against today. It did......apart from the winner.

I think you should either always leave a short lay in, or never. These things probably even themselves out unless you try to pick and choose when to intervene. Unlucky this time stewarty b.

I just watched the replay(also had money on the nag) and I think he lost fair and square. I have no idea why he was trading at 1.01. After the last fence it looked like a 50/50 gamble. I thought horses trade at 1.01 when they have a 5 length lead with half a furlong left.

In this case saddo you are probaly right but you couldn't do it every race. You would be taking under the odds and it would be impossible to win.

Like mysely Gaze we are not privy to fast pics. roida is and good luck to him. Having said that, why don't all IR punters pay for fast pics? roida could answer better than me but at a guess it must be helluva expensive.

If I went down that route it would be a return ticket to Newcastle to learn from the man. (stottie cakes and peas pudding includedLaugh)

I get the track bit steve but large dish and daily codes????

Could you explain in laymans terms please. (I'm techy clueless)

@roida Explain. After the last fence the fav was trailing by a length. Several seconds later they were nose to nose with 10 metres left, that's 50/50 in my book, not 100/1.

gaze..the fav was sitting in behind cruising...it moved up to challenged still going well 100yds out..as it edges ahead all the track players are frantically clicking, most with 1.01 overides...when they look like winning there rarely is anything there to back..

stew...

the people who have the sis fast feeds normally have a 1.5m motorised satellite dish...2 receivers...one to move the dish and 1 to receive pictures...you then have to source someone to send the biss codes (sis encryption) that are needed for each track..sounds complicated but like most things easy when you are accustomed.

I get your drift steve but I have to be honest....fast pics are not for me....too complicated. That's just me I may add but I would like to sit next to you for a week....just to see the way you operate.
