The going here for racing today is good, good to firm in places.
There are no early non-runners.
There are changes to race distances, as follows:
Race 1, 3, 5, & 7: +87 yards
Race 2: +132 yards
Race 4 & 6: +150 yards

remember a live reporter a while back stating a trainer in the parade ring stating his horse was fit and ready to run well despite it being a non running from early morning.

As frustrating as this is we are now having a precautionary inspection at 10am.  There was a -2C frost overnight...

Our humble abode is just 2 miles away and it is very foggy but clearing but very cold. Nothing guaranteed would be the call atm.

most budding local reporters usually give a going report of their garden which always makes me chuckle

Right, my trainer just went in about a quarter of an inch. I don't have a stick so will try a kebab skewer.

A couple of miles NE of the track. Feels the coldest morning of the winter so far. The problem is that there is absolutely no sign of the sun. It's that which has been rapidly clearing the frost around 11 am each morning since Christmas, but it ain't here yet today.

Should read a couple of miles NW of the track, for what it's worth.

Can see this one going "to the wire".
Taunton will not want to lose their most lucrative fixture of the year in terms of " money over the bar "
Another inspection 11am?

Would you believe it? As soon as I post that there's no sign of the sun, it just starts to brighten up. The grass frost at least is suddenly melting. Good chance they can go ahead now.

Sorry for the put-away. Glad there's no betting on it that I can find.

Quite surprised by that, the wife is off now in her capacity as waitress in the Members Bar, hope she is nicer to them than me.

If it is anything like at my house 20 miles away, you will only see one fence or hurdle. Dense fog and worse now that earlier on.
