Once he decided to go inside on the turn, he needed a touch of luck.   Unfortunately everywhere he looked, he was shut out.

he just made the wrong decision 2 times . twice before the straight he had the option to go outside but he was adamant that he wanted to go inside .

Off the home bend he had the option to go outside....he went in.!!

CJ , The opportunity to get out was there he choose to ignore it and wait for an impossible gap. Chapman and co cant wait to praise him and others when it works but gutless when he makes an almighty c0ckup like that

Even with him choosing all of the wrong options possible he still could have got the beast up in the last 100 yds with any kind of intent.

Having seen the head on again.  I think if this had been a £50k race.  Kirby would have tried to make a gap between those in front.  There was a moment to opened up, but he didnt fancy it

I've never seen anything bent in this game - straightest game on earth - but I'm a complete loser talking out of my pocket - we can all choose to give it a rest - theoretically

The big question is why give up the golden strip four horses wide to duck in behind horses as the race came to the boil(comfortably travelling best) - for someone with Kirby's A-W experience it was a mystifying decision.

Here's the thing though, the horse had been off the bridal looking lazy and had to be ridden before coming back on the bridal again, with this scenario it would be better to switch out wide and get him going with one big sweeping move, rather than have to sit again and run the risk of the horse switching off again whether the gap came or not..
