Hello Paris hope your well
I brought this up last winter no idea why this is going on but it also puts me off going. |
|
By:
Thanks foxy, yes I'm fine, hope you are too.
I find it a real turn off and, to add insult to injury, the entrance price isn't reduced to compensate! I'll wait to the next meeting, when I have an RUK day and even if they do the same again won't feel totally fleeced! |

Judging by the first race time next Monday is a 7 race card.
|
|
By:
The only way to ensure more 7 and 8 race cards is to have smaller fields still or fewer meetings. I know most rational people would opt for the latter but the BHA remains committed to increasing the fixutre list regardless of quantity or quality of fields.

trainers crying out for rain throughout october /november,first 4 races at ludlow 3,7,8,5

Aye, the prize money isn't exceptional but it isn't bad compared to a lot of tracks. There basically aren't enough NH horses in training to provide competitive racing at the number of fixtures that are scheduled. With so much more all weather racing now snd more overseas interest in buying Flat horses from the UK than a few years ago the influx of horses from the Flat is only going to keep dropping. It is a good job the are still owners paying well over the odds for Irish pointers.

Not surprised to see the 3-runner race is a novice hurdle confirned to mares.

You must be constantly surprised at all the Mares' races that do well, Barton Bank. There are plenty of them.
Keep banging the drum though, old boy ![]() |

Quite possibly the worst meeting i've ever seen at Ludders.
-Z quality wise.. |

Another thread - another moan from Barton Bank. This great old game of ours hasn't treated you too badly BB.

Last week was without doubt the smallest I have ever seen at any track.......today won't be much better
|
|
By:
Not even full hurdle races now

Not saying it has KSJ. What do you regard as doing well, The Headmaster? 5 runners? 6 maybe?

Keep the mares races coming, headmaster. As a long term project it's going well.
Ground is always an issue NOT to run at Ludders imo. |
|
By:
I know that there are one or two trainers who don't run horses there for that reason but hard to put the field sizes today down simply to that as Ludlow does quite often attract decent fields.

I thought I'd come back to you on this, Barton Bank, as it's an area you regularly highlight and are clearly interested in.
Mares Jump races run in 2016 in GB Total - 271 2 ran - 2 3 ran - 3 4 ran - 26 5 ran - 31 6 ran - 43 7 ran - 45 8 or more ran - 121 Balloted/Eliminated - 18 Average Field Size nudging 8 (7.94) |

Better than I would have guessed, but hardly impressive.

8 decs today in a race that's restricted to 3yo Juvenile Fillies. On the same card there's a Novice race open to 4yos and upwards open to both sexes. Surely that defies all logic, Barton?
